MRDuCran 06-21-2006 06:47 PM

Yeah definately. His scream sounds a little too forced, like the way most people try to scream, which will actually damage your throat.

Drunken Viking 06-21-2006 07:08 PM

At this rate the two main singers will have both blown out their voices.

I haven't seen Trivium, but anyone who has does he still abuse the crap out of crowd singing like this?

MRDuCran 06-21-2006 07:59 PM

What do you mean?

I was in that crowd btw.

Drunken Viking 06-21-2006 08:02 PM

Lucky!
I meant does he still abuse crowd singing, like he didn't sing any of the choruses, and only like one of the parts after the chorus.

MRDuCran 06-21-2006 08:09 PM

Oh right. Um, at Download 06 he did actually sing I think all of it.

Here, check it out:

Mr_Bounce 06-22-2006 01:41 AM

I gotta say, I don't prefer that voice. He's shouting, almost only one note :\ Well whatever they gotta do though. A7X's Shadows got his voice ****ed up and I like his singing on CoE (probably heavily layered audio tricks?), maybe Matt can work on his voice and get it passable.

Drunken Viking 06-22-2006 01:53 AM

No, he'll just sing like he does now, and screw up his voice again.

Mr_Bounce 06-22-2006 01:53 PM

That was harsh, but probably true :p

MRDuCran 06-22-2006 01:58 PM

I got my Trivium pics developed today, but they're kinda far away 'cause I went back a bit since I had been at the front for the rest of the bands that day but whatever, they're still pics. Quality isn't the best though, just disposable cameras.

SimonCore 06-22-2006 02:49 PM

I was so glad when I saw Trivium he didn't let the crowd sing anything at all! He did it all himself!

MRDuCran 06-22-2006 03:12 PM

That's what he did at Download too. Pretty cool.

Huber 06-22-2006 05:57 PM

When I saw Trivium I think he only let the crowd sing like once, and I think it was during the Pantera covers anyways.

It was awesome when I saw them. Great experience.

Grumma 06-24-2006 06:14 AM

Yeah; I downloaded the audio from the Detonation video and everytime I hear it I like it better.

And Im sure Matt's vocals are likely to sound a bit more like singing than shouting/yelling than they are on the Detonation vid

Corkofski 07-15-2006 05:28 AM

hey guys, im gonna be putting a RR roadrage '05 DVD signed by the whole band on ebay later tonight, anyone want it? sure we can arrange something to give a MXer preferential treatment

xClevelandx 07-15-2006 08:09 AM

To put it simply, Trivium is amazing. I have both Ember To Inferno and Ascendancy and love each album. Ascendancy being their strongest album of course but both are definatly worth checking out for anybody who's looking to get into them.

Corkofski 07-15-2006 03:09 PM

yea

MRDuCran 07-15-2006 03:23 PM

Have you guys seen the Interpretation of Trivium on youtube??

Although I am a fan of Trivium, I still found it hilarious.

yea, theres 2 around, theres a drowned and torn one, and a pull harder one.

cba to look at that one, goin to bed now

MRDuCran 07-15-2006 06:33 PM

I've seen a Like Light to Files too but that sucked. This one however, is brilliant.

xClevelandx 07-16-2006 09:56 AM

I like Trivium but that video was hilarious.

MRDuCran 07-16-2006 10:36 AM

Yeah exactly my thoughts.

I like the pics of Matt's face at the part:

"I am here to rike bike"

Just so many good moments.

Arlan89 07-16-2006 10:47 AM

I own Ascendancy. It's quite cool except the metalcore vocals start to annoy after like half an hour. The Youtube interpretation vid is an instant classic.

lamb_of_goddrummer 07-16-2006 12:12 PM

Lol, now that is some funny sh1t.

FlyingPaul_83 07-16-2006 01:59 PM

those interpretations are great.

LAWL!

MRDuCran 07-19-2006 05:49 PM

Rain is a pretty difficult song I tell ya. That gallop pattern thing that Corey plays is woah. I'm trying to record it now and I wish I had practised it before hand that's for sure. :upset:

Insipid2000 07-21-2006 03:37 PM

Rains a great song, I know this is probably been asked before but when is The Crusade going to be released?

MRDuCran 07-21-2006 03:55 PM

October.

Prince Charming 07-21-2006 04:36 PM

Don't make Trivium sound better than they are. Corey can't play live , at all.

Yeah. That interp of trivum is quite funny.

MRDuCran 07-21-2006 05:07 PM

Well trying to play what he does on the album is very hard. Also considering they literally play that song at about 230 bpm live when it's at around 210 makes it even harder. There's a video of it on their bonus DVD, or youtube.

I'm pretty sure I remember it being played at my CoB show last fall when they played an opening set.

I'm actually going to try that sometime to see, because I can't think of any Trivium that's ultra hard.

InDeep 07-22-2006 08:07 AM

Im not a trivium fan, I bought ascendancy when it first came out and didnt mind it, but it all sounded the same to me.
Im not gonna deny they are talented musicians, but one thing that really peeved me off was when Matt Heafy said
"What Metallica achieved in five albums, we're going to achieve in two."

Pah Matt Heafy I'd like to point something out, its not the 80's anymore mate.

MRDuCran 07-22-2006 03:23 PM

I think it'd be easier for us all if you just didn't post if you don't like them.
I'm actually going to try that sometime to see, because I can't think of any Trivium that's ultra hard.
I've found it's all in the picking. The left hand stuff is pretty simple and no crazy stretches or anything but the rhythms they use can get tricky, plus they downpick alot which makes it harder. That main bit in Like Light to the Flies is all downpicked.

lamb_of_goddrummer 07-23-2006 01:28 PM

"What Metallica achieved in five albums, we're going to achieve in two."

I like Trivium, but Heafy is a fuking faggot douche bag.

lamb_of_goddrummer 07-23-2006 01:29 PM

i cant believe u cant cuss on this site that is the dumbest sh1t.

Endless Obsession 07-23-2006 03:22 PM

Trivium, one of my favorite bands, but cant possibly put on a good live show because Matt doesnt or cant scream anymore, and it just ruins it. I was so dissapointed I never got a chance to see them live when he did scream.

MRDuCran 07-23-2006 03:26 PM

I think the new songs are ruined by the claen voice also, especially since I've only ever heard them screamed, then he stops and it sucks. Stuff like Rain, Like Light to the Files, Pull Harder, Gunshot etc all need the screams to sound anything like they do on the records.

RosettaStoned 07-23-2006 04:25 PM

These guys aren't necassarily my favourite band but I do like them.

I actually prefer the clean voice, and the highlight in the songs for me are the chorus'.

so hes basically saying that he can't create anything original so he has to copy Metallica. meh, whatever, they're just joining the likes of Avenged Sevenfold and Shadowsfall and most bands today.

Moses 07-24-2006 02:07 AM

I don't really think they're that talented but I do have a softspot for their poppy stuff like, Dying in Your Arms.

That interpretation of Pull Harder... on Youtube is brilliant though.

Exactly.

@ Mitch. stfu. You're musical knowledge is draining before your very eyes.

@ Moses. Exactly. Yeah it's brilliant. Dying In My Arms isn't bad, but withstandable. Pull Harder is the only one I still like.
