Do you guys consider Joe to be the best songwriter of all time? Because I certainly do. The only others that are even close (for me) are Neil Young and Jello Biafra.

Jello performed naked one time at a concert with the clash... so I guess they did meet at least once

Jello profile bumped. I think they met, if not, they should've. But I think Jello looked up more to The Ramones than to The Clash.

Tom Waits>Neil Young, Lou Reed>the rest. The top of the rest are really close; Strummer, ray Charles, Jim Morrison etc.

I just got back from the bookstore. They had two Clash books there, one was "The return of the last gang in town", and the other was "Joe Strummer and friends". Both were over $20 so I couldn't get either

Joe and Jello did meet. I SWEAR I once saw a pic with Jello, and the Clash. I forgot where though :confused:.

The Clash definitely knew of DK. There's an interview in which the interviewer asks Joe if there's such a thing as an american punk band and he says no but Mick says "What about the Dead Kennedys?"

Yea, I want to read that.

I also read an interview where the interview asked Joe if he liked any straight edge bands. Joe said something about not being sure what straiht edge was because "In England we like our beer and cigarettes!"
