True, I didn't like Audioslave when I first heard them because I saw them as RATM watered down, instead of looking at them as their own band. Now I like them. But RATM will never reunite, IMO. The band has ran it's course, and the guys are getting older. I mean could you picture 40 year old guys running around like "f**k the police!"?? It's just funny when you see people like that.

Have you been to a recent Audioslave concert? They play Killing in the Name, all while Tom Morello gets 4 feet of air on the stage. He's 41.

I prefer Zack to Cornell, mostly because I like RATM's music better than Audioslave's.

I love both bands... if I had to choose (tough one)... I'd say Audioslave. I think that they're more harmonicly (if that's a word) sound than RATM

Nah. Outshined, Rusty Cage and Jesus Christ Pose are better than any of the tracks on LTL, but I never really liked anything else off Batmotorfinger.

I remember months ago some n00b made a thread in either the Pit or here saying that he heard Zack got shot close to where he lives. Everyone flamed the hell out of him, like most people here do, but that got me wonderin', what's he up to these days?

Morello has got to be one of the coolest guitarists ever, no one else can wear their guitar that high, wear geeky clothes and pull it off.

And even more awesome for starting the interlude from "Township Rebellion" at the end of "Freedom". SUCH AN AWESOME ENDING TO A SHOW. My fav guitarist.

Yeah, that part at the end is amazing. I would do almost anything for a chance to see RATM live.

The thing that turns me off about this band is the rapping.

rage is awsome...i started getting into them just as they broke up so i never got to see them live...but then i heard that audioslave was comin to town and they played some rage songs so i jumped on the chance to maybe see part of rage live.... i must say it was awsome...they played instrumental versions of several songs and the whole place lit up and the crowd was all singing the lyrics.....it was beautiful ..lol... to bad the arent together anymore

This has been discussed loads. He was making a solo album ages ago. I've heard a song on the radio not long ago which was a Rock song with Zack singing.

Don't think the solo album is happening though.

Tim Commerford also expressed in Bass Guitar magazine that he does not miss RATM and that he thinks Out of Exile is the best album of his career. So RATM are over. Period.

I also picked up the guitar because of RATM.

From what I've heard, Zack left because he didn't feel the band was taking enough political action as it should. I respect the man and his work, but that excuse seems oddly fishy. R.A.T.M. is why I love politics. I think they touched the minds and souls of many a teenager and young adult.
R.A.T.M. is one of those bands I listen to while doing my homework/playing a video game/working on the computer and I just wish they were back. I miss the funky riffs, the funky vocals, the kickass bass and guitar and drums...
My biology teacher loves Rage and the main thing he hates about Audioslave is how soft Cornell's voice is compared to the rest of the band. He hears the music, gets pumped, and then Cornell starts crooning and he loses it. He just can't get into it.
Give him the self-titled Rage debut, and he becomes quite possibly one of the most kickass teachers in the state.

That seems like a stupid excuse from Zack, seeing as since he's left Rage he's done pretty much nothing in terms of voicing his political opinions, something he certainly would have been able to do if the band was still together.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe Zack just wanted to get out of it. Maybe he felt as though he could do more without three other people involved.
He obviously cannot.

The amount of times I've bumped this thread to save conversation on my old favorite band is extremely high. It's good to see others bump it to. :)

I always figured it was mostly just tension between Zack and the other three. Mostly bought on from creative differences.

I remember reading an interview with Morello, and he said that for BOLA it was often just the three of them rehearsing and writing, and they would just send stuff to Zack for him to write lyrics.

I've heard House Gone Up In Flames. I'm not to sure about Morello's singing, but the song is pretty cool, I like it, quite Dylan-esque.

His singing is really good. I have the Axis of Justice CD and it has some of his songs on it.

all Zack did was voicing his politcal opinions and how corrupt the situation is, but it was Tom who did the action more, having involved on such activities than zack...

but dont get me wrong, i love RATM
