shadow_stalker 01-13-2005 11:31 AM

Madcap. 01-13-2005 12:27 PM

I have a question, about paranoid (booo)

Is the line

' ...insane because I am frowning ...'

or

' ...insane because I am browning ...'

I swear it's the second one.

Brew 01-13-2005 12:53 PM

Frowning.

''People think I'm insane because I am frowning all the time''

I think.

shadow_stalker 01-13-2005 01:19 PM

rippa32 01-13-2005 06:17 PM

Does anyone have the Live Evil album? I wanna know what Dio sounds like singing all the songs Ozzy used to.

JACKROXYOU 01-13-2005 06:19 PM

 dont worry its pretty good

JACKROXYOU 01-13-2005 09:42 PM

but im not the expert (looks at brum)

Brew 01-14-2005 02:20 AM

Live Evil is fantastic.

Its taken me about 5 listens to really like it, at first I was like ''meh...Dio's voice doesn't do the songs justice'' but he gives them his own touch and doesn't sing them exactly how Ozzy sang them.

Its well worth getting, I have it on vinyl.

Morning all

shadow_stalker 01-14-2005 03:31 AM
have you heard the white zombie cover of children of the grave?
its good, but i still prefer hellfueled (too bad i cant find any other of their songs :upset: )

josh (sack_man) do you want e to send you hellfueled

i was half way through getting iron maiden's cover of sabbath bloody sabbath last night and my internet went off

I dont really see the advantage of vinyl unless its cheaper than the cd.

Josh 01-14-2005 04:12 AM

morning all.
i prefer cds, mainly because i dont actually have a record player. i'd have to go to my grandads. he says hes got some vinyls that are over 100 years old, classical music obviously.

Apparently its not Iron Maiden but Godsmack feat. Bruce Dickinson.

Either way its a good cover.

To me...vinyl is how music is supposed to be heard, it has more of a live feel to the album instead of something thats been sat in a studio being sampled over and over and mastered to get the ''correct'' sound.

Sure cd's may sound better, but I prefer vinyl.

floyd.the.barber 01-14-2005 06:41 AM

whats the best album with dio

Ulysses 01-14-2005 06:45 AM

Vinyl has a fuller sound, its heavier sounding yet still very clear, I'd have to say i prefer the sound of vinyls on an expensive record player than cd's. But cd's are portable, more accesable and versatile which is why i buy mainly purchase cd's.

shadow_stalker 01-14-2005 07:04 AM

im getting a vynal player woo, so i'll be able to listen to thiungs like my blizzard of ozz vynal

i prefer cds they are cheaper and alot easier to get a hold of (hasnt listend to vynals in years)

sweet

Vinyls cool, my bro has a deck in his room and all our records....except hes gone off to uni and left them all so I'd put it all in my room and "re-possess" it :p...except I dont have a separate amplifier system & speakers for them :upset: If I wanna listen to them I have to go in his room so I mainly listen to CDs, or play my MDs through my bass amp

kredkeee! 01-14-2005 12:08 PM

Hi everyone (while nobody present, but whatever). Vinyls? I don't have a vinyl player or any vinyls actually so I can't say anything about them. I would prefer CDs I guess. Pity that Sabbath albums don't go through in those d*mn polls. They deserve it a lot more than Maiden, Metallica etc in my opinion. And does anyone know if any Cradle of Filth albums were on the polls?

shadow_stalker 01-14-2005 01:06 PM

i dont think there were any but i didnt see the first few polls so...

Brew 01-14-2005 01:50 PM

Meh, I care very little about these polls.

Today I bought:

Black Sabbath ''We Sold Our Souls For Rock n Roll'' t-shirt
Inside Black Sabbath 1970 - 1992 DVD
TYR

The DVD is alright, its got some great live footage of Tony Martin but the Ozzy and Dio years stuff is basicly everything you've heard before.

I haven't listened toTYR yet, I'm playing bass at my pooter instead trying to come up with riffs for a song.

shadow_stalker 01-14-2005 02:28 PM

what kind of bass you got?

Brew 01-14-2005 02:38 PM

Peavey Milestone III

It rattles at me these days, I've had it for nearly 3 years.

/is listening to TYR

shadow_stalker 01-14-2005 02:51 PM

sounds nice

/doesnt have TYR but might get it oneday...maybe, its taking me long enough not to hate dio so

Brew 01-14-2005 02:52 PM

But Dio doesn't sing on TYR.

Tony Martin does.

shadow_stalker 01-14-2005 02:57 PM

yeah i know thats what i ment i just musnt have been clear about it

why on 'am i going insane' is it the radio edit? anyone know?

Brew 01-14-2005 03:23 PM

Not sure why they did it, but there is only one version of Am I Going Insane.

The (radio edit) must have been something to add on for fun.

shadow_stalker 01-14-2005 03:40 PM

meh suppose it doesnt really matter anyway

so...how many albums did tony martin do with sabbath?

Eitri Is Berserk 01-14-2005 03:50 PM

I like your avatar, shadow stalker. Do any of you like Warning? From the album Black sabbath, I think.

shadow_stalker 01-14-2005 04:21 PM

yeah its a brilliant song (one of my favourites)

thanks, i wonder why you like my avatar

Eitri Is Berserk 01-14-2005 04:31 PM

Right after posting that I searched for Warning on this thread, its been mentioned quite a few times now, my bad. But still, one of my favorites, the lyrics, the bluesy feel of the solos..everythnig else.. I wanna hear the origonal version. Oh, my avatar is Iommi too, it just dosn't say it.

Brew 01-14-2005 04:39 PM
meh suppose it doesnt really matter anyway

so...how many albums did tony martin do with sabbath?
At a guess....4

shadow_stalker 01-14-2005 04:57 PM

it doesnt matter if you mention songs like warning more then once just so long as you dont bring up paranoid in every other post, andy might try and kill you

since there are 4 Tony Martin albums it'll be ok to ask the question 'what is everyones favourite tony martin sabbath album?

Brew 01-14-2005 05:04 PM

Out of TYR and Headless Cross....its hard to choose, I like them both the same.

I'm pretty sure he sung on Cross Purposes and Forbidden, I could check but I'm feeling lazy at the moment.
