Distant Echoes 01-26-2005 08:23 PM

That works too...

im looking to buy all the Floyd CDs instead of downloading or stuff...and a good band to choose. I love all their artwork and effects and stuff. I got all the Zep CDs at once burned, and it was great, but pretty boring, so i really want to buy everything Floyd

Wintermute 01-26-2005 08:26 PM

I know what you mean... with my favourite bands I do tend to try and get them all genuine, and Floyd are one of my favourite bands. So I wonder why I haven't... I've got two t-shirts and a DVD of The Wall in genuine, but the CDs on my hardrive of theirs are all my Dads. I guess it seemed foolish to buy them while I was living at home, as there were genuine copies just downstairs.

Shazzam 01-26-2005 08:28 PM

Yeah, i downloaded Pulse too, but I'm definately gonna buy it when it comes out on DVD.

Distant Echoes 01-26-2005 08:30 PM

I got some Tshirts, some posters, about 6 CDs, and tons of files on my computer all Floyd, including sweet art they made but never really released like my avator.

But i plan to Get Obscurred by Clouds Next, cause i got a sweet avator for that too, which ill put up as soon as i buy it

Well, im gonna crash. It getting pretty late.

Thanks to all who rep+ me, i actually contributed today

Has anybody said anything about the song Nobody Home? That song really gets to me. Roger writes some sweet lyrics.

I just picked up The Pink Floyd and Syd Barret Story (DVD). It was pretty interesting, considering I didn't know too much about Syd Barret to begin with. I think I might check out some of the stuff involving Syd now. Has anyone else seen this DVD, and what did you think of it?

So has anybody read Mason's autobiography yet? I think it was released recently, if I'm thinking correctly. If so, would you reccomend it? I have a LOT of trouble finding literature that interests me...:upset:

Shazzam 01-27-2005 08:27 PM

Is it released yet?

Yeah, I hate books, and books hate me......

But this might be an exception.....

ACDCman 01-27-2005 08:29 PM

You suck at being smrt. But yes the book is out. Check it out. I liked it. It was kind of long and boring at parts. Especially at the beginning when they are still college English kids, and at the end where he goes on and on about the last newer albums. I skipped some of it, but it was a good read.

Another Brick?!?

Point of naming those songs??

I have seen it. I like when that guy have those coloured lights and Floyd was just jamming to the flow of the lights.
I have seen it. I like when that guy have those coloured lights and Floyd was just jamming to the flow of the lights.
True that. That's why I like the old Syd Floyd. So much improv and creativity. They never played a song the same way twice. They had to cut down the songs and the improv to make Pipers. Interstellar Overdrive live would be for like 20 minutes, and on the album it's like 10.

magicbus 01-27-2005 09:24 PM

I haven't read the Nick Mason biography, but I probably will. Right now I'm reading A Saucerful of Secrets: The Pink Floyd Odyssey.

DeusExMachina 01-27-2005 09:25 PM

I like Syd. Really creative guy. Too bad he burnt out.

Yes that was cool, especially what he did when using a Zippo lighter for a slide. Great stuff :thumb:

Its very good so far, and I've heard the rest is great from people who have finished it. So I'd recommend it.

Shazzam 01-28-2005 10:42 PM

Is there any Gilmour Biography?

I'm borrowing the 'Pink Floyd - The Barret Years' DvD, should be fun.

bomber 01-29-2005 06:43 AM

did anyone else see the pink floyd programme on british television last night? it had interviews with the band now and looking back on the success of dark side of the moon. Previous to this programme pink floyd were a band i could never really get into but now i love them!

hypocracy hater 01-29-2005 06:54 AM

Darn it, I missed it.

bomber 01-29-2005 07:17 AM

well at first i didn't even know it was on as i was flicking through channels and up came the pink floyd album cover for dark side of the moon so i sat and watched and it was just the band discussing there fame, lyrics and albums, chord sequences to there songs etc. The guitarist's face has hardly changed at all, as is the bassists face.

DeusExMachina 01-29-2005 09:36 AM

The guitarist is awesome. I love him.

Shazzam 01-29-2005 11:16 AM

Geez, Waters has a big ****in nose.

Dr. Jake Destructo 01-29-2005 11:42 AM

Waters has grown into his nose over time. I saw a picture of him that was taken recently, and it looks fairly normal, whereas during the seventies, he looked like a friggen anteater or something.

Maybe about a month ago, we were talking about the bands that Pink Floyd had influenced, and somebody mentioned how Tool had put a part of Shine on you Crazy Diamond into one of their songs. Does anybody know/remember which Tool song it was?
