Those collections are like $300 though. I think thats about 200 pounds.

Aeaon 07-09-2005 05:57 PM

I've been thinking of selling High Voltage and HIghway To Hell. SO that I can get the remastered versions.

I hope it happens though.

rippa32 07-09-2005 08:00 PM

You mean sell vinyl records?

angusmaster 07-10-2005 06:52 PM

Ive got a Question , what happened to AC/DCs first bass player.

BludgeonySteve 07-10-2005 07:00 PM

he sucked so they kicked him out and replaced him with cliff who sucks also.

Face it, bass is unimportant when talking about AC/DC.

I think AC/DC's most underrated album is 'Powerage' with Bon Scott. :thumb:

Watch the live footage of "Sin City" on the 'Family Jewels' DVD. :amaze:

And to other AC/DC fans out there check this out!!!:

BludgeonySteve 07-10-2005 08:01 PM

Agreed. Nobody ever talks about it but that's one of their best. I have it on vinyl.

edit: that article fills me with hope :)

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-10-2005 08:08 PM

Are you guys going to be doing any covers for the thread cover competition? I'm making an effort to put some air back into the competition, so I'm just putting out some reminders. :)

Thanks man. :)

All my friends listen to is 'Back in Black'.

There's a whole another world out there when you talk about AC/DC with Bon Scott.

'Let there be rock' is also a good album, just not very good recording.

Follow The Reaper 07-10-2005 08:42 PM

Let There Be Rock Is a great album, the only reason the songs are alittle ****ed up is because Angus's amp blew up in middle of recording.

Interesting.

Do I sense a little bit of sarcasm.

I would do that with AC/DC, but I don't know how to put them on the computer.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-10-2005 09:12 PM

Jake's 3 step method to recording stuff.
1. Go to Walmart or any other place with an electronics section and purchase a 10 dollar computer mic.

2. Download the recording program audacity from http://www.audacity.sourceforge.net and use it to record.

3. Upload the song either on http://www.yousendit.com or create an account on http://www.soundclick.com

Follow The Reaper 07-10-2005 09:14 PM

No I'm serious man! I really didn't know that.

brettberry 07-10-2005 09:48 PM

Did anyone here ever go see acdc at Donnington? I did, well I was there but I couldnt see them. I saw a big black square out in the middle of a field of people and a lot of smoke. dont know what was causing the smoke
Let There Be Rock Is a great album, the only reason the songs are alittle ****ed up is because Angus's amp blew up in middle of recording.
Whole Lotta Rosie live is godly :)

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap is another Bon Scott masterpiece.

brettberry 07-10-2005 10:42 PM

I found out that most of the time, angus doesnt even use any distortion pedals or anything, just a loud tube amp amplified by pa systems.

Follow The Reaper 07-10-2005 10:48 PM

He doesn't even use Pa Systems, he only uses Marshall Amps with natural distortion pedals, he is against pedals, and effects.

BludgeonySteve 07-10-2005 10:49 PM

Well obviously.

Follow The Reaper 07-10-2005 10:53 PM

Hey, I was just telling BB about it.
Well obviously.
explain "obviously"

Follow The Reaper 07-10-2005 10:59 PM
explain "obviously"
I think he meant that they are rock and roll and rock and roll generally doesn't use any effects. You can't hear any effects on any of their albums. If you watch them they have a ****load of amps so they obviously don't need a pa system, and Angus has said many times that they don't use PA's, effects, just natural distortion.

BludgeonySteve 07-10-2005 11:00 PM
explain "obviously"
He doesn't use effects. His tone is really dry and lifeless, you can hear it in the music. If he only used some effects the band would be twice as good.

you might burn in hell for that, you mean the beginning of Thunderstruck has no life, what about hells bells, or even highway to hell?

BludgeonySteve 07-10-2005 11:04 PM

I just said his tone wasn't very good. The band is great, ballsy, hard rockin' and has one of the best live shows ever.

/and hell aint a bad place to be

brettberry 07-10-2005 11:07 PM

definition of hell: a bad place to be; firey pits; bugs the size of sweden; burned and reborn to burn again; our earthly fire=1 hell's fire=1000

AC/DC makes hell seem like a fun party where satan is your buddy and buys the beer.
AC/DC makes hell seem like a fun party where satan is your buddy and buys the beer.
funny but explain where that attitude came from, your mother when you where 10, be real dude, you got to forget everything anyoone has said or told you about music and musicians and form your own opinions about things.

BludgeonySteve 07-10-2005 11:11 PM

and so they did :)

Angus and Malcom were never the kind that listened to their mommy.

Yep, good old AC/DC.

Congragulations on 13k! :thumb:

brettberry 07-11-2005 12:16 AM

I always wondered, how did acdc get its name?

Follow The Reaper 07-11-2005 12:18 AM

Because Angus and Malcolm saw AC/DC (AlternateCurrent/DirrectCurrent) on a Vacum cleaner and thought it was a good name.
