Kage 11-24-2006 08:58 PM

Can someone here upload or AIM transfer Jesus Lizard's Goat?

Zappa 11-24-2006 10:06 PM

An "experimental band?" Is that like a group of scientists starting "chemical mixing or some shit!"?

An "experiment" must have a certain goal in mind. Otherwise it's just dicking around.

YDload 11-25-2006 01:15 AM

Hey nacho i think i was wrong about that cocteau twins bassline. i think it's actually two frets higher than i said (so the 9th fret on the D string instead of the 7th, or B instead of A if you know notes)

so that means you were actually right when you said it was the B on the A string, just one octave higher.

Kayetan 11-25-2006 11:47 AM

Ok, in case you don't have it already, it's like this.
0:03
E-E-A-A x2
0:13
A-E-D-D x4
0:51
A-E-B-D x1
1:00
E-A-E-A x2
1:20
A-E-D-D x3
1:48
A-E-B-D x1
1:57
E-A-E-A x4
2:34
F#-F#-E-E-D-C#-B-A x4
2:52
E-A-E-A x2

It's all root notes with some interchange between octaves. yeah, so I hope this helps.

Zappa 11-25-2006 12:54 PM
The goal is good, interesting music. But there'll be lots of "dicking around" as well I'm sure. I prefer to desribe it as "having fun", however.
Eh, fair enough. That's a marked change in tone, though. You acted like this guy you found was a gift from god, and like the music you were going to make would be similarly rad and totally far out. It just rubbed me the wrong way, the concept of setting out to be an "experimental band."

Happymeal 11-25-2006 04:18 PM

So I think I have diarrhea right now. Maybe Chinese food + peanuts + 4 oranges isn't exactly a winning combination.

yay Pepto-Bismol

Glitterati 11-25-2006 08:40 PM

i just looked outside and its snowing.

sweboy 11-25-2006 09:46 PM

We haven't got any snow here in Sweden yet. Gg, global warming.

Anyway, it's here, nintendo reggae: http://www.allears.se/MyPage.aspx?name=Mikelangelo&song=edbbf3bc-30f6-4e62-ba78-af9fd9d8c882

Kayetan 11-26-2006 01:30 AM

It was pretty warm today. I'm kind of anxious for winter to get started.

AndreTheHyena 11-26-2006 01:50 AM

Me too. I like wearing heavy jackets and snuggling with my girl while walking down snowy streets, thus recreating the cover art for The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan.

mr_jackalope 11-26-2006 01:54 AM

I am going to make my first drunk post in the community thread.

There.

It is done.

For conversation's sake, anyone else like the Go-Betweens a lot? They make me absolutely giddy about being sad.

mr_jackalope 11-26-2006 01:54 AM

Also I am in the far north why is it not snowing? It snowed at Halloween last year.

Kayetan 11-26-2006 02:03 AM

Can't say I dig the Go-Betweens, but I just got the new Animal Collective ep and it's cool.

mr_jackalope 11-26-2006 02:10 AM

The re-release of their first live album or something? It has a stupid name and I hate 80% of what they release anyway and hated sitting through that.

The love of Animal Collective baffles me. Their act seems to be shock value oriented for part of the time and I hate that type of stuff.

Kayetan 11-26-2006 02:29 AM

I think you're talking about Hollinndagain, which I haven't really gotten into yet, but I'm talking about People (ep). This album provides very little in terms of shock factor. It's just really chilled out, and I enjoy it.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 11-26-2006 08:14 AM

Animal Collective? Shock value?
I don't find Animal Collective shocking, I just find them good. And fun. Among other adjectives.

The People EP is good.

ATM 11-26-2006 08:01 PM

Hm downloading the new Hella. Anyone heard it yet?

Wanker 11-26-2006 08:33 PM
Animal Collective have their really accessible moments.
Yeah that's true.

Those moments are probably their best though. They're a really fun, upbeat band, but sometimes their weirdness is too much for me. But half of the time, it's not their weirdness that irks me; some of their songs are just godawful.

Listening to Flesh Canoe makes me want to flop through a puddle of acid on my belly.

Eliminator 11-26-2006 09:59 PM

"Banshee Beat" is their best song.

soooo good

br3ad_man 11-26-2006 10:16 PM

"Banshee Beat" live was the best thing ever.

Kayetan 11-26-2006 10:33 PM

I can't believe I missed them live last year. What a mistake that was.

The Robot Ate Me is good band.

Zmev 11-26-2006 11:12 PM

Today has been listening to Jose Gonzalez and Wu-Tang Clan.

bleep_bloop 11-26-2006 11:28 PM

José González is good.

pikester 11-27-2006 03:35 AM

So all of our roads are covered in about an inch of compacted snow and ice, and I don't have winter tires. It sucks to drive on.

Guess who's job it is to drive around town delivering pizzas..... crap.

bleep_bloop 11-27-2006 03:43 AM

get chains dude, i dont think they're too expensive.

Glitterati 11-27-2006 04:51 AM
