Well he's good enough even if he isn't that good. Which I don't know if he is because he never has any bass leads. He always uses a plectrum aswell.

Rattlehead 04-02-2006 07:13 AM

he good enough, anyone's good enough, he just doesn't seem to be anything special, and next to the other band members, that is quite odd.

He probably is really good. We just don't know.

Paolo is one of the new age metal bassists, he lets himself be heard and he stands out just enough for you to be like, hey they have a bassist. He reminds me of Darkest Hour's old bassist, Billups.

Avenged Sevenfold's bassist comes to mind with that style of playing too.
So when exactly is the TRIVIUM new album due?
I read somewhere that it was due in September.
I agree 100%, he only really goes to his true potential in two songs:

Machines and Icon Of Malice by Capharnaum.
I thought Jason Suecof did the vocals on those songs.
In case you haven't heard..

EIGHT OF rock's hottest bands have contributed to a special re-recording of Metallica's Master Of Puppets in celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the classic album's release.

Remastered, which features exclusive recordings by Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium, Fightstar, Machine Head, Funeral For A Friend, Chimaira, Mastodon and Mendeed - will be given away free with Kerrang! issue 1102, which goes on sale April 5!

"Master Of Puppets is a flawless, inspirational and hugely influential album - we're incredibly proud of Re-Mastered, which is the most exciting free CD in the magazine's history. Put simply, EVERY Kerrang! reader needs to hear this album." - Paul Brannigan, Kerrang! Editor

"We're really happy with our version of Welcome Home (Sanitarium) and I'm sure when Lars and the guys hear it they'll think we've done them proud!" - Matt Tuck, Bullet For My Valentine

"It's a real honour to be part of this. James Hetfield is one of the most inspirational players ever. He's the main reason I perform and I play the way I do." - Matt Heafy, Trivium

"We we wanted our track to be as ****ing heavy as possible. I hope hardcore Metallica fans will like what we've done." - Charlie Simpson, Fightstar

"It's awesome to think that some of you guys weren't even born when we recorded Master Of Puppets! We're honoured that it's a record that's perceived as a milestone and a record that's been so inspiring to so many people. We're as excited to hear this as you guys are!" - Lars Ulrich, Metallica, from his exclusive sleeve note

Heafy's hetfield-esque vocals will return on their cover of "Master Of Puppets"

I don't really want to buy a Kerrang magazine. Hopefully this will get leaked. Don't get me wrong I buy CDs but I don't support Kerrang. I'll probably cave and buy it though If I can't find it anywhere.

SimonCore 04-06-2006 04:30 PM

Oh God what't so bad about getting Kerrang!?? IMO it's a good read, and it seems to me, that the only reason people dislike it is because they review commercial music aswell.

toolfreak 04-08-2006 12:12 AM

i dont think we can get kerrang in australia:( correct me if im wrong though

SimonCore 04-08-2006 05:56 AM

What do people think of Trivium's cover of Master of puppets? I think it's the best one one there.

I used to buy it every week, now I rarely do (I often read a friend's copy though). It seems to have got a lot worse recently, it has a few bands that it constantly wanks over that are always on the cover. And it seems now the bulk of the magazine is just featuring mainstream bands, with hardly anything about less commercial bands.
Oh well, at least its not as bad as the TV channel.

And yeah, Trivium's cover was one of the best, I was quite impressed by the CD overall.

Huber 04-08-2006 11:06 PM

I think Matt should stick with the vocals he did on the MoP cover.

I would be happy with that ;)

They did a great job with that cover. Do ya'll know who did the solo? I'd imagine it was corey...but then again you never know

I think I heard that he might be doing the vocals like that on the new album.

U heard correct there will be little to no screaming in the next album

Trivium 04-10-2006 12:18 PM

the cd pretty much sucked except for trivium and machine heads covers

Shred Danson 04-10-2006 01:41 PM

OK, Funeral For A Friend and Bullet For My valentine were on it, what do you expect?

SimonCore 04-10-2006 02:45 PM
OK, Funeral For A Friend and Bullet For My valentine were on it, what do you expect?
Bullets one was horrendous. Ffaf's was not bad at all.

nowitzki 04-10-2006 06:02 PM

FFAF's was by far the worst cover on the album. Their attempt at the solo was woeful. I was also very disappointed in Mastodon's cover of Orion.
Chimaira did a very good job, and I really liked the way Mendeed put their own spin on The Thing That Should Not Be.

Mendeed done 'The Thing That Should Not Be' and personally, I thought it wasn't great.

Trivium's MoP was decent, but they didn't really do a lot with it.

You're spot-on about Chimaira. They done a great job of 'Disposable Heroes'.

nowitzki 04-10-2006 06:49 PM
Mendeed done 'The Thing That Should Not Be' and personally, I thought it wasn't great.
Ah yeah, my mistake, I meant The Thing That Should Not Be.
Mastodon's cover wasn't that bad...
It's not that it was particularly bad, it was just very average. It was quite an accurate cover, but they added nothing new to the song, and it came out worse than the original.

When trivium were on tour with CoB awhile ago CoB fans threw bottles and swore at Trivium and matt heafy calling him a poser what do you guys think of this.

Crysiss 04-11-2006 02:07 AM

Wtf is he a poser of. I hate all these people that assume that popular bands are posers. The guys in trivium are good musicians and are def skilled.

I support that towards Trivium.

I saw them when I saw CoB and Trivium was awful.

Matt's screams and clears were awful. Both he and Corey made plenty of mistakes on guitar riffs/solos.

Several people threw shoes at them. That was funny.

Personally I stuck to flipping him off everytime he looked my way and yelling random **** at him just loud enough to be heard. Inbetween songs that was.

Thats Exactly what I thought when I heard about this, but Matt Heafys vocals do get annoying form time to time. But there playing on Ascendancy is very good.
