Is the YSI thread successful?
o Yes
Personally I think that thread is brilliant, you've done a good job with it. Something I was wondering about is what happens if someone keeps appearing in an update, yet doesn't get their request.

Jom 04-13-2005 09:11 AM

ICB, can you link me?
Something I was wondering about is what happens if someone keeps appearing in an update, yet doesn't get their request.
Well, I feel really bad about this, but eventually SOMEONE is going to be able to match their requests. Another option is that once I return to my permanent residence for the summer, I can download the songs and upload them, even though that's going to take awhile since I have a much slower connection there :(

Shred Danson 04-13-2005 09:12 AM

It's too bad my school blocks YSI, I might contribute.

Still, the thread has made a really good start and I think almost everyone is getting their songs.

Shred Danson 04-13-2005 09:17 AM

It's going to help my iPod, that's for sure  I'm getting a mini iPod with the money I have left over from buying my plane ticket...

Is it screwing up? Oh, crap.

Mazeppa 04-13-2005 09:39 AM

I read the article
Sad but true, playing guitar will NOT attract girls. Maybe you should take up lead singing instead. Just a thought.
That was one of my favourite bits.

/warms up for guitar

Shred Danson 04-13-2005 09:46 AM

Hehe, you know, that little bit is true. I have not gotten laid since taking up the electric guitar  maybe it's because I can't play their favorite Simple Plan song. I'm not that talented

I liked how you said "downpicking" was important, I also like to use downstrokes where possible. For example, playing Master of Puppets at a friends and he was like "Why don't you alternate pick?". I just learnt MOP with downstrokes and played it like that since.

My electric guitar attracted a girl. :p

Yeah, but that's only because you're Belgian.

How did you know?

Shred Danson 04-13-2005 09:58 AM

I've known for a while.

ATM 04-13-2005 10:03 AM

I play MOP with downstrokes too

i am the robots 04-13-2005 10:04 AM

****ing foreigners, AMERICA RULES

Shred Danson 04-13-2005 10:04 AM

I've always played it that way, I'm assuming that's the correct way because most thrash and old Metallica uses downstrokes and plam muted riffage.
****ing foreigners, AMERICA RULES
What the hell did that have anything to do with anything?

True, if Hetfield plays downstrokes, so will I. It also sounds more "consistent" that way.
you said that metal guitar was belgian.....
I am half Belgian, but I live in England and was born in England.

It is pretty damn exhausting, though.

That's the spirit.
It is pretty **** tiring, though.
It does get a little bit tiring after a while, but you get used to it.
you said that metal guitar was belgian.....
No, I said that Jelle, aka Superpeer, was beligish...or belgian. Whatever.

I learned that song during half term (week of school) and that's all I did for that whole week. It did take me a while to get the stamina to play with the cd, but I managed in the end. For me, the hardest part to learn is the:
|-----2----3
|-0-1--0-1-- etc. you know, at the intro

Shred Danson 04-13-2005 10:12 AM

Knew what? For some reason, you're not making any sense today, dude.

I meant that, as in Jelle being Belgian, lol.

That was the first song I completely learned. I didn't really have any trouble with it, especially that part during the intro. I guess it mostly has to do with hand-eye coordination.
I meant that, as in Jelle being Belgian, lol.
Ah, OK. I get ya.

Yea, that can be tricky. I just had to keep trying it over and over.
