Si1v3RfaNg 04-16-2009 08:54 PM

so i need some bands with incredibly epic buildups? Any recs? I already listen to Isis, Pelican, Neurosis, and bunch of other post-metal bands, so technically it doesnt have to be post-metal.

rasputin 04-16-2009 09:28 PM

Moss don't really have any build ups at all, they're pretty much constant

RetiredAt21 04-16-2009 09:33 PM

Buildup shmuildup, dude just needs to listen to some good music.

Or just any slow, weird, dissonant metalcore.

Don't worry too much about what we say to you/about you. We tend to be hard on new users, just ignore it and it will go away.
Hiya, pate. :smoke:

By the way I guess I should say, avant-garde is different than prog. Like prog has more to do with the actual technique, and avant-garde has more to do with the overall work. I admit, depending who you ask, it is not a typical term. Hmmm I notice the Encyclopaedia Metallum doesn't have a section for that genre. *shrug*
Yeah sorry if I come off as a dick, I just don't see how stuff that gets coined, "avant garde" metal is very avant garde at all, just kind of original eccentric sounding metal... it's still quite musical, you know?

Si1v3RfaNg 04-25-2009 09:07 AM

Hey guys recomend me some elite music with amazing drumming. I know Decapitated's Winds of Plague, so don't rec that. It can be anything within the metal genre, I don't care, as long as it's metal.

2muchket! 04-25-2009 09:10 AM

Animosity would be a good place to start.

Si1v3RfaNg 04-25-2009 09:11 AM

I tried them a while ago, while I enjoyed the drumming, I pretty much hated everything else.

Txus 04-25-2009 09:48 AM
