LifeInABox 08-10-2007 04:29 PM

What is that, Elim.? That isn't you, is it?

superpeer 08-10-2007 04:36 PM

Yeah, I really like season 8.

Lunch 08-10-2007 04:39 PM

Season 8 has the Scorpio episode which is probably my favorite one

Glitterati 08-10-2007 04:40 PM
exactly.

hey liam, what have you read by palahniuk
Fight Club two years ago, and one of his short stories....I forget which one though.
Season 8 has the Scorpio episode which is probably my favorite one
And the one with Johnny Cash coyote AND the one with Frank Grimes. And a bunch of other classics.

Stoic 08-10-2007 04:53 PM

Sweet, it's high time I finally got into the Simpsons too. I mean greek TV has aired episodes but in a rather inconsistent way. As for now I'm busy with the 2nd and 3rd X-Files seasons <3

Eliminator 08-10-2007 05:00 PM

the coyote episode was just on

Is it dubbed? :p

Belgian TV airs two Simpsons episodes every day, I can't remember a time when it was not being aired.
the coyote episode was just on
I like when the snake goes around Homer and he goes "okaaaay, I think I'll just go now <-<."

Eliminator 08-10-2007 05:07 PM

"did that dog just talk?"

"woof"

"damn straight"

Stoic 08-10-2007 05:11 PM

Thankfully only latin soap operas are dubbed ^_^

superpeer 08-10-2007 05:13 PM

It's too bad I've seen all the great episodes 100 times.

I friggin love that show.

Riva 08-10-2007 05:21 PM

Jumping into the conversation:

Best book I've read in this year is Headgames by Nick Earls. Very witty, well-written and rather insightful novel. It's sort of a series of short stories surrounding this bloke's journey through med school interspersed with one-shot short stories that range from slightly quirky to fairly outrageous. Top stuff.

And Orestes, The Simpsons has to be the biggest cartoon franchise in years, I can't believe you haven't had more opportunities to get into them.

Txus 08-10-2007 05:23 PM

Have you guys seen the movie Perfume?

Eliminator 08-10-2007 05:25 PM

from now on i will call superpeer grimey
Have you guys seen the movie Perfume?
Nope. Wanted to since I heard an adaptation was being made, though. Is it any good? Or is that what you're about to ask us?

superpeer 08-10-2007 05:28 PM
from now on i will call superpeer grimey
Riva 08-10-2007 05:28 PM

What's it about?

NP: Richard Wright - Unfair Ground <- Possibly the creepiest song ever to include samples from fairgrounds.

Perfume? It's about a low-born French guy who has an exceptional sense of smell, but is born without a scent of his own (which disturbs other people), amongst many other problems. He becomes obsessed with smell, as you probably would in that situation, and spends most of his time chasing the perfect scent, which mostly involves killing women in an attempt to 'capture' theirs.

The book, at least.

LifeInABox 08-10-2007 06:11 PM

That's the weirdest plot I have ever heard.

Dimmu Burger 08-10-2007 06:12 PM

Sounds like a David Lynch film.

Bartender 08-10-2007 06:18 PM

Really? Six String Samurai is still my favourite for the 'weird plot' bit.

Riva 08-10-2007 06:21 PM

Weirdest plots ever... I can't think of anything specific off the top of my head, but Young Einstein is pretty odd. And is Perfume by a French author?

Txus 08-10-2007 06:22 PM

'Tender: I was asking because I haven't seen it yet...it looks good though. I want to read the book.

German, I think.

Dimmu Burger 08-10-2007 06:32 PM

Lost Highway was bizarre, but brilliant. Anybody else see it?

Tyler 08-10-2007 07:00 PM

I hate David Lynch. I haven't seen any of his movies for the last 4 years or so, so I'm sure that'd change, but, he just has this general aura of douchebaggery about him.

I just bought really expensive dress pants and an expensive dress shirt though, so im a douche too.

LifeInABox 08-10-2007 07:00 PM

And you say you don't have money to buy music!

Tyler 08-10-2007 07:03 PM
And you say you don't have money to buy music!
I have money now, but normally I don't.

I was saving for tuition (it's about 4500 for two semesters), but I found out yesterday that scholarships are covering about 4000 of that.

I dont know the figures are off but basically I'm going to owe pretty much nothing.

LifeInABox 08-10-2007 07:06 PM

I got $60 tradin' in some cd's today, then I turned around and bought more cd's

Deth 08-10-2007 07:06 PM

I pay nothing for tuition either thanks to a scholarship paid for by the lottery.

LifeInABox 08-10-2007 07:07 PM

You really won the lottery?

Deth 08-10-2007 07:09 PM

No :p

The lottery in Florida gives a bunch of money towards scholarships, and as long as you meet the requirements, you get full tuition for any Florida state school or an equal amount for any private Florida schoo.

LifeInABox 08-10-2007 07:10 PM

Ohhhh . Good deal, either way.

Tyler 08-10-2007 07:11 PM

It was so easy to get scholarships. Get a 75+ and you get 1000, get an 80 and you get 1500, get an 85+ and you get 2000

I got 2000 the school for my marks, 2000 from the school based on need (im poor), and another scholarship is giving me 2000.

So that's 6000/32000

Not bad, since I'll apply for more scholarships every year.
