Anyone got any good blues artists to suggest?
Hmm.. Don't listen to a lot of blues, really. But, I did see an amazing musician at my local Roots And Blues festival (the one thing my town is famous for). Jimmy Bowskill. He's 15, and unbelievably talented. Really nice guy, too. I think he's from Toronto.

BenJammin 10-15-2006 09:59 PM
Wow, that is nice. That's one thing I need to upgrade, my amp situation... Although I'm currently saving up for a car, and a trip to Japan on spring break. So I'm stuck with my Peavey Basic 60 until the summer, probably.
Yeah, I'm sick of my Behringer BX600. I've bought the head, and I'm going to pick up a Schroeder cab in January or maybe December, if the money is there.

Japan, eh? That sounds wicked. Why there?

Aerodyne 10-15-2006 10:00 PM

Because the government there passed a law against genatalia. :amaze:

Explain.

The_Red_Death 10-15-2006 10:02 PM
So. I'm thinking about joining a metal band. I'm quite possibly the least metal person in the world (exaggeration). Thoughts?
Truth be told, I'm at a point now where I'm so desperate to start playing shows that I'd really play just about anything.

It's an exchange program through my school. I've taken Japanese for 3 years now, and I figured since I have the chance, I should go for it.

Oh, sweet. Yeah, in that case, might as well. I keep forgetting that Japanese culture is a lot more prevalent on the west coast.

PaulSimonon 10-15-2006 10:09 PM

So yeah, I'm in a good mood. How's everyone else?

Aerodyne 10-15-2006 10:09 PM
Pardon me?

Explain.
I'll try and find the exact law, but basically it says that there can be no videos that show any form of genatalia. That's why you have pr0n with tentacles and other tasty fetishiness. :(
Truth be told, I'm at a point now where I'm so desperate to start playing shows that I'd really play just about anything.
Exactly. :thumb: I haven't played in a band since the beginning of summer, and that fell through in about a month. The last time was about a year before that, so I'm ready to play with someone, and I really don't care who.

Only 2,317 days until I can legally drink.

I'm feeling fairly amazing. Got back together with a former girlfriend of mine earlier this week, and things are going beautifully. Also, I'm mellowing out to some Minus The Bear. I really need to get Highly Refined Pirates soon.

Thanks. The only blues on the radio here in central Arkansas is a one-hour weekly show called House of Blues. I've been listening to it religiously the past 3 weeks.

PaulSimonon 10-15-2006 10:15 PM

Psh, drinking legally is for tools! Underage ftw!

And Blues Brothers is my favoritestestest movie EVER.

Congrats man. Why did things end before? I'm assuming it was an amiable breakup since you're obviously still cool with each other.

Spaceman Spiff 10-15-2006 10:17 PM

I was in a good mood all weekend while hanging out with my friends, but now I'm sort of coming down and going back to normal.

Wait... that's a lie. I was pissed off at some of my friends for part of the weekend. Either way, everything is getting back to normal.

Also, I'm dead tired.

My dad is into... well everything, but he has ****loads of jazz and blues stuff, the list is more of a taster of popular stuff though, its a massive genre and way to hard to list everyone.

Yeah, there was some guy who totally killed last week! It was some of the best music I've ever heard. And now I can't remember his name.
He wasn't really that big, but they talked like he was a big enough name in the blues world. Of the blues music I have heard, I've liked the guys that you don't hear about every day more than someone like B.B. King.

Ugh, don't remind me... It probably won't be half as fun afterwards... :upset:

At least I have other things that will always be illegal!

Fact: BB King cant play and sing at the same time.

Although id rather someone mention BB king than say... Good Charlotte, which is the best i can hear on the radio around here.

PietroCrespi 10-15-2006 10:21 PM

Well I'm off to bed.

Aerodyne 10-15-2006 10:22 PM

Cool, my Dad's from Little Rock, but I don't think I have anybody there now.

PaulSimonon 10-15-2006 10:22 PM

BTW, I'm seeing both Bo Diddley and B.B. King in the next month or so. AND might be going down to THE crossroads that the song "Crossroads" is about!
