My 5 favourite Misfits songs are:
Attitude
Dig Up Her Bones

Vicious_Guitar 08-26-2005 01:37 PM

The best misfits album (IMO) is: Walk Among Us
The one to avoid is: American Psycho (its just too over the top)

Bad Blood 08-26-2005 02:32 PM

The misfits are playing about 20mins away from me soon. I don't think i'm going though, my mate is though.

I can't see why they're coming here, round here it's crap and quiet with crappy venues.

LCBdroog 08-26-2005 02:39 PM

misfits are amazing. im listening to collection 1 right now on vinyl. im seeing them september 30th. its going to be superb.

RetiredAt21 08-27-2005 12:03 AM

I doubt it will be superb. Not with Jerry Only doing vocals.

RetiredAt21 08-27-2005 11:46 AM

Do they play mostly old Misfits stuff?

Bobby Pyn 08-27-2005 12:58 PM
They recorded it in January 1978 but no record company wanted to release it. Various tracks leaked out on bootlegs and compilations but it was only officially released in 1997.
Wrong.
it was actually relleased first in the misfits box set in 1996 with 14 of the 17 songs recorded and then released on it's own in 1997 with all 17 songs.

doyle7von7frankenstein7 08-27-2005 03:16 PM
Do they play mostly old Misfits stuff?
this is what i remember them playing

abominable dr phibes/ american phsycho
halloween
and a bunch of others i cant think of right now

RetiredAt21 08-27-2005 06:36 PM

That sounds pretty good. If they come around here, I'd go just out of curiousity, to see if they are as bad as my friends said they were.

Arrakakaka 08-27-2005 09:48 PM

Currently, I've been hooked on the song "Bullet".

RetiredAt21 08-27-2005 09:49 PM

No one can resist the charm of Bullet, it's such a great song.

Crunchwrap Supreme! 08-27-2005 09:59 PM

I like Hollywood Babylon and Horror Business better. The latter is my favorite song by them.

RetiredAt21 08-27-2005 10:06 PM

Horror Business is a great song, I like the cover that Samhain did of it.

doyle7von7frankenstein7 08-28-2005 02:41 PM

well they do sound pretty bad, but still, if you like the misfits as much as i do, its worth the money. ive been to a lot of concerts and The misfits/agent orange show is still my favorite. And Onlys voice isnt thatttt bad...

Bobby Pyn 08-28-2005 02:47 PM

It was released to the Fiend Club. Which is why I'm having trouble finding it.

RetiredAt21 09-01-2005 12:10 PM

Well, if it was released to the Fiend Club, it's probably pretty rare. Good luck trying to find it.

jsoc1 09-04-2005 12:17 PM

Hybrid Moments, Static Age, T.V. Casualty, Halloween

pimpy the pirate 09-09-2005 10:05 PM

what are some other horrorpunk bands that actually kinda sound like the old misfits. IMO balzac and calebrese barely sound anything like the misfits or at least the old misfits

Brew 09-10-2005 03:42 AM

I saw The Misfits in Dudley a few days ago, at the end I met Dez and Jerry and they signed my ticket. I also had a short conversation with Jerry about the sound crew which was cool :)

shamed-angel 09-11-2005 10:58 AM

Went to See the Misfits last night...

Well... when I say I saw the Misfits, that is actually a huge exaggeration. I went to Newport TJ's, and I watched Adequate 7, they were absolutely incredible, as usual. They have so much energy and their songs will never ever get old! When they'd finished, there was a chant of "Jerry!" Then this band came onto the stage, and started butchering some of my favourite songs. The "Misfits", if you can even call them that anymore, took the stage and just took a back catalogue of fucking incredible songs. And played them with such immense shitness, that myself and my girlfriend left. I went to the cloakroom, and nearly cried as I heard a steroid junkie and his backing band take apart possibly my favourite Misfits song, Astro Zombies. I left, telling Jamie from Adequate 7 that they owned, and that we were leaving. He said he thought they were really bad too. but there was the biggest crowd I'd ever seen in Tj's. And the band was shite!
I just had to get out of there. But let me say... it was well worth the £12 to see the support. Jerry Only is a cocksucking moneywhore. And I hate him for what he is doing to the legacy of quite possibly my favourite punk band ever...
To give this thread a point... What do you think of the new Misfits, and have you ever seen a legendary band this excruciatingly bad?

superskankinactionhero 09-11-2005 11:00 AM

new misfits are bollocks, my friend went to see them and left exactly like you did. adequate seven are awesome though, i know their trombone player

Drop The Baby 09-11-2005 11:04 AM

i was supposed to see the new misfits at City Invasion Tour this year but they pulled out as their drummer had trouble getting a work permit. Sounds like i shouldn't bother going to see them when they're next over here.

I don't like Adequate 7 much at all.

Adam, there was a thread on Triggerfish recently, apparently you've got the same nam,e as another band. It's proberly a couple of pages back now
