If you sweat at all while you play it, waxing is a necessity. If you plant your thumb somewhere (pickup, side of neck, wherever), then you definitely have to wax there, or the wood will start to fade to a grey-brown color. It's easily back to normal with some heavy waxing, but it fades back much easier than it came in the first time.
I don't sweat or anything while playing mine, and we don't really have humidity problems here. I'm thinking about waxing it simply on principle though. |

awesome warwick!
Yeah, my corvette sounds great with DR flatwounds.
I agree with you guys that the quality of warwicks are great if I were to get one i would get the $$ but i figure if your going to spend that much on a bass why wouldnt you get a wal bass custom made wich has a 100 times better tone then any warwick
Well, a Wal's tone is very distinct. The tone is very high quality, but might not be to some people's tastes.
i recently got a warwick thumb NT (good price, excellent bass) and it is just great. heavy but the wood is dark and amazing sounding. I find that MEC isn't as bad as people say, they aren't spectacular but my preamp is very versatile, I'm putting a review up in a week or so and will go in depth.
