It was too ... operatic, kind've how I feel about Rammestien. Synth choirs are very rarely good :p
karma to burn - almost heathen - thirty three http://s42.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=18M5KYGI2HUCT0Q81WZ1XOASB1 instrumental stoner
It WAS good, only ... the riffs weren't that good, if you get me? Marrunno, it lacked that 'thing'. Still good though.
krux - krux - popocatepetl http://s42.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=22OCJEQAJOFTI0EJ7VLR1YGLFW one of leif eldings bands
Pretty cool, only again it lacks whatever it is that Kyuss had in abundance :p Y'know, hours later you wont be still trying to strain your voice to sing Thong Song |
As an aside, my Windows Media Player ****ed up and one of the guitar parts on 'Catamaran' is either missing or really quiet. It's the bit that leads into the first verse. Anyways ... sounds alright :thumb:

Feedback:
Doomsword - I think they're ace. I'm still praying that they play Doom shall Rise! Quality epic doom. Karma to Burn - Sorry, I didn't bother listening. I've heard them a hundred times and they bore me. Krux - this band contains Leif Edling. How could they be anything other than brilliant? |
Here's my contribution for today:
World Below "Sacrifices to The Moon" And for amusement: Candlemass covering Venom |
What song is that, the cover? It's interesting.
I'm wearing my Candlemass T-Shirt today, the one with the word "DOOM" on the back, and (no joke), some kid came up to me, said "Doom? You play that video game?" That was a WTF moment. |

Not heard of this band before, i shall look into them. Although the singing isnt anything to write home about, still not bad. Dont recognize the song candlemass covered. |
The song was "Countess Bathory" from "Black Metal". A good cover I think! Very different to say the least!
I'll add some more songs tomorrow. I think maybe a bit of Solitude Aeturnus, Some more Solstice, some Pentagram, some Trouble and maybe, just maybe some Unsilence. |
here are chaps
abstrakt algebra http://s15.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3MBTOFX3RIEZT11GU0OOGS64K2 yet another leif edling band pagan altar http://s15.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0GLWI007IJ8QL3VCK3OGSBOUMW woop |
Cheers for the Pagan Altar - great band. As you mightexpect from their vintage, they sit right on the NWOBHM/doom border. A great band none the less.
I wasn't impressed by abstrakt Algebra at all. Now here's my offerings: Don't be gay listen to: Solstice "To Ride With Tyr" Epic doom featuring me hitting things: Unsilence - A Walk Through Oceans With the exception of Candlemass, there is no better doom band than the mighty Solitude Aeturnus: Solitude Aeturnus - The 8th Day :Mourning |
Jesus Christ, I've got to get YouSendIt. Maybe I can help with the Stoner Rock like Jondur is doing with the doom side of this thread.
And you're right, Solitude Aeturnus is very awesome indeed. |
You don't need to 'get' yousendit, you just use the site.
http://s.19.yousendit.com should work, I think. |
Schools' blocking it.
Guess I'll have to wait until I move. |
Ah, okay.
I wish I wasn't on a 56K for the next few weeks. |
How's Soulseek workin' for you, by the way?
|
It's not.
|
I had that same problem  I hate it. Just get something faster, like bearshare.
|
I mean it's not working at all, won't even connect to the server. It's not just that it won't find anything. The same thing happens with any others, as far as I can tell, on my other computer (at Uni). On this computer they usually work, but apparenly not now.
|
Hmm...I don't know what to say. Maybe you should uninstall it (but make sure you keep the files you've gotten) and reboot the computer?
|
I've re-downloaded and reinstalled countless times :)
I've just more or less given up on them all. |
Might be a virus within the program. I don't know. All I know is I hate Soulseek .
|
Alert! Thread Hijack!!! *prepares weaponry*
Now you're both here - you might as well listen to the songs me and joe_fresh have posted and then post some feedback! Thanking you in anticipation |
That's why I was lamenting my being on 56K in the first place. I want to listen to the Unsilence track (and the others, but that one especially), and it'll take me ages to download (especialy since they're doom, and so I'm assuming rather long). I'll download them eventually, but I'll probably wait til I've gone away from the computer to watch a film or something, and let it get on with it.
|
If you're all very nice you might get a sneak preview of the new Candlemass album tomorrow.
|

Bit boring, with poor vocals. Although the bit which is about 5min through is pretty good. |

I wonder if there's any way to be nice enough to deserve bits of the new Candlemass album, without sending Jondur money and/or women. |

Colour Haze - Ewige Blumenkraft Sleep - Jerusalem (sick of not actually having the cd) Earthlings? - Vinyl boxed set. I will be so. pissed off if she fails  |
Well that's blown the being nice to me and hearing the new Candlemass album early
eh? edit: ah, didnt realise it was your band, should probably read it next time |
What a low blow
You guys have an album out*? *for sale online |
Any of you guys know of an album where the atmosphere is similar to that on Candlemass - Samarithan? You know how it's like depressing and uplifting at the same time. That would surely be the greatest album known to mankind, an album transcending all space and time to... yeah, ok, just start with the suggestions. :p
|
hhm this may sound rather weird, but a lot of doom metal isn't all that doomy and depressing to me.
does anyone know any doom metal bands like my dying bride, cause that band really makes me want to slit my wrists, and I like theri lyrics, very poetic :) so any MDB alike bands? |
Just heard a cool song by Minotauri. Check them out if not already!

I bought the Cluth album "Blast Tyrant" and I am in awe over it, its one of the greatest stoner rock albums I've ever heard. Some of my other favorite stoner rock bands are Kyuss, Five Horse Johnson and Fu Manchu. Haven't heard any doom metal before, but I must check it out sometime soon.

i like doom metal
