Robert Crumb 12-18-2004 09:32 PM

^^You can take it if you want, I've got a lot on me plate anyways.

br3ad_man 12-18-2004 09:37 PM

Thanks fella :)

I'mhungryForASandwich 12-19-2004 12:38 AM

I call dibs on Korn - Issues

Iai 12-19-2004 06:53 AM

I just cross-referenced the original post with the Reviewed List and took off a few albums that have already been done. :) My Buck 65 review will hopefully be up today.

Bartender 12-19-2004 08:28 AM

Thanks for that. I took off what I knew had been done from memory, but I couldn't be bothered to load up the List separately on dial-up and check.

Iai 12-19-2004 08:33 AM

If you want, you could just leave this thread to me.

I take it you're back home, then, if you're on dial-up?

Bartender 12-19-2004 08:38 AM

Yep. It's good being back home (having food in the house for once, and so on), but the slower internet is somewhat annoying.

I'll keep checking on this thread (if only because I'm still online so much, and it's something to do), but it'd be cool if you carried on helping out too.

What happened to changing your avatar to a different Dylan? I thought you were going to use the one you jerry-rigged for Iai2, once you were unbanned.

Iai 12-19-2004 08:39 AM

I was, yeah. I'm lazy though. :(

The JoZ 12-19-2004 10:20 AM

I want to dibs "Untouchables" by Korn, simply because I have half of a review already written, and I don't want anyone taking that away from me. It'll be up later today, most likely

Shadows 12-19-2004 11:13 AM

Lately I seem to be putting off writing reviews more and more, but I'd like to call dibs on Arch Enemy - Wages of Sin.

Bartender 12-19-2004 05:36 PM

I thought you already had dibs on that.

Shadows 12-19-2004 08:29 PM

Well, either way I've called dibs on it and it will be the next one I do.

I appreciate all that one guy does for me.

Iai 12-20-2004 05:05 AM

Here's an interesting one.

I got a compilation out from my college library to keep over the holidays. It's got tons of great songs on it, and it's really worth checking out. BUT, it came free with NME and therefore, is not available for general sale. It will, however, be available from me on Soulseek.

Am I allowed to review it?

blueyxd 12-20-2004 05:16 AM

well I just did the Command & Conquer soundtrack which only comes with the game...

meh, it's a cd, sounds good enough to me. It's probably easier to find than most of the black metal albums reviewed on here.

Bartender 12-20-2004 05:42 AM

Yeah, I don't see any reason why you couldn't review it.

Only possible problem would be that it may lead to people reviewing the free compilation CDs given away on various monthly magazines.

br3ad_man 12-20-2004 05:49 AM

Hopefully they don't review the backing track cds that come with Total Guitar.

Iai 12-20-2004 05:57 AM

If they make them available on Soulseek then I guess it shouldn't be too much of an issue. Of course that doesn't apply to Total Guitar CDs.

Guitar Techniques > Total Guitar anyway. :p

br3ad_man 12-20-2004 06:03 AM

I hate guitar magazines. All they talk about is classic rock and how good the Darkness are.

Iai 12-20-2004 06:07 AM

You've clearly never read Guitar Techniques, which led this month with a feature on Nick Drake.

br3ad_man 12-20-2004 06:08 AM

I've read it once ok!

EDIT: and the lead story was either Jimmy Page or EVH!

Iai 12-20-2004 06:11 AM

:p.

Happymeal 12-20-2004 08:35 AM

Dibs on Straylight Run's S/T. I'll do it after my Pinback review..

moderaterock222 12-20-2004 08:49 AM

I'm gonna do 'James:The Best Of' over the holidays:cool:.

Carlos Santana 12-20-2004 10:33 AM

HEY. Can someone do a track by track review of Metallicas "Black Album"???

holidayincambodia88 12-20-2004 11:00 AM

im gonna go ahead and call dibs on Catch 22 - Keasby Nights.

Shadows 12-20-2004 02:20 PM

If compilations are allowed, would I be able to do a Century Media compilation? Its really good and I've been thinking about it for a while...

Bartender 12-20-2004 02:26 PM

I don't know. See, this is the kind of thing I was worried about, it setting a precedent.

Shadows 12-20-2004 02:28 PM

Well if its going to cause any kind of problem, then I can just as well not do it. I'm not attached to it or anything.

Bartender 12-20-2004 02:38 PM

Well I meant that's what I was worried about with Iai's compilation.

I suppose it comes down to what compilation, individually, each time, because there's no problem doing actually released compilations (like Trustkill Records Blood, Sweat and Ten Years thing), but reviewing the random assortments of tracks you get attached to the front of magazines would seem like a bad idea, I think.

Shadows 12-20-2004 02:54 PM

Well, this one was actually released. A friend of mine bought it from somewhere and gave it to me.

But I'll just let it go. I might as well not do it is it will simplify things.

br3ad_man 12-20-2004 05:58 PM
HEY. Can someone do a track by track review of Metallicas "Black Album"???
I suppose I could, but it wouldn't be very nice, so I won't do it.

br3ad_man 12-20-2004 07:43 PM

TV On The Radio review finished

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5952047#post5952047

I'd like a keep a couple of dibs, not that I'm worried about anyone doing them...

U2 - Rattle and Hum DVD
The Radio Dept. - Lesser Matters
Isis - Oceanic
The Goo Goo Dolls - Dizzy Up The Girl

That'll do

Silverchair_88 12-20-2004 08:34 PM

I'm suprised that there isn't more STP stuff!? Someone should do some more, or I might even, they kick ***.

BuddyBigsby 12-21-2004 02:51 AM

Dibs on

Cave In - Antenna

I can do a Neurosis too, but I'm not dibbing it because I don't know if I'll have the time.

BuddyBigsby 12-21-2004 02:55 AM

And as long as br3ad's doing Oceanic, anyone want a review for Panopticon?

br3ad_man 12-21-2004 07:00 AM

I haven't heard it, so I'd like to see a review. Especially since theres a tiny chance of me seeing them next year.

Robert Crumb 12-21-2004 01:15 PM

That's what I thought too. But I'll make it clear in the review that it's only available on Soulseek, and I was going to link to other album reviews too. The main reason I want to review it is there's it packed with bands that influenced Nirvana, and who blow them out of the water, so maybe some fanboys might get some good music out of it....

It's funny because I'm on their street team. :)
