Ok, I went a little too far with that post, they're still good, but older Slayer is greater than newer Slayer. Selected newer songs though are, Bitter Peace, Scrum, Point and Payback :thumb:

I think Haunting the Chaple might be okay... I've only heard Chemical Warfare, and Captor of Sin, both awesome songs.

Haunting the Chapel is definitely worth the money, out of 4 songs, 4 of them are superb :p

i saw it for $8.99 dident bother to pick it up dident know if it was worth it or not

And GHUA was a whicked album ...Disciple,Seven faces ,Blood Line,Exile are whicked songs...but slayers best cd is reign in blood or south of heaven

well i dont really like it but sometimes i will listen to it the one thing that i do like about it though that it shows the roots of punk are in metal. I wouldnt get the album but i like one song the minor threat cover was pretty good

Question... I have Hell Awaits, Reign in Blood, South of Heaven, and Seasons in the Abyss... any other Slayer material worth picking up? I love RIB and South of Heaven, Seasons in the Abyss is pretty good, and for some reason I find Hell Awaits just mediocre.

MAthiAS: Possibly Divine Intervention, that's an okay album. I give it 3/5.

Show No Mercy is awesome. That'd be my recommendation.

Anyways, you may wanna check out, Show No Mercy, Haunting The Chapel and Divine Intervention. Some people, including myself say Slayer lost it after Seaons but Divine is still a great album, it doesn't contain a bad song IMO, Circle of Beliefs is probbly my favourite from it, or Killing Fields.

Hell Awaits is pretty good, and I do see how you think it is like RIB.

Anyway, I hope this thread somehow gets officialed.

If it gets officialized then a lot more will be expected from it. It been running unofficial for some time now, you know, you started it :p and it goes dead for a while then picks up again, like at the moment. Your thread though so it's entirley your choice if wanna suggest it to be officialized, I'm just putting in my views :thumb:

You might wanna read about 'BTK'. I'm planning on writing a thrash song about him. Edit: Just remembered it has to be a him due to the state of the crime scenes. Crimelibrary is probably going to be a big factor in lyrical content, although that's basically plagiarism, so I may have to edit them slightly. I remember reading how Jeff Hanneman came up with Angel of Death, he was reading a book on the Hell Awaits tour about Mengele and just decided to write song about him 'cuz he thought it was cool' and thats the attitude I'm going to try and adopt.

Raining Blood is awesome also's Angel of Death I also love Altar of Sacrifice.
And I like seasons in the abyss too but my Favorite song is Disciple.

So, id say that Hanneman probably wrote that song to express the horror that these ppl lived through

Well the rumoured title is Songs of Harmony and Devotion but as for what it sound like, I've heard reports it sounds like a cross between Seasons and GHUA, hopefully it will lean more towards Seasons, I think there's another song with a clean intro e.g Spill the Blood or 213 but little else. If it's on par with Divine Intervention I will be happy :thumb:

What's up everyone? Yeah I read an article in Edge Magazine where Kerry is talking
about the new album. He says that they have about 12 songs ready to be cut.
He also b**ches a little about how the label is giving them crap about releasing it.
He states that some of the songs have DAVE LOMBARDO on the skins, which will
give it a seasons w/ GHUA feel. I read this about 2-3 months ago though.
