I saw a video of them playing it live and god**** it was bad, he tried improvising it and playing it really fast and it was actually painful to listen to, but obviously coz slipknot are such (and i use the term lightly) a *rock hard band* all the fans cheered

i hate it, its so random, it doesnt follow any particular rhythm , argh its ****!

Pick any Kerry King solo you want and you could argue its the worst. His solos sound like a monkey playing guitar(sorry to any monkey gutarists i offended).
Also, pretty much all pop-punk have horrible one string solos that last about 5-10 seconds.

I just read something on Limp Bizkit's guitarist auditions that pissed me off.They made all the guitarists play something they themselves made up.It couldnt be copyrighted, it couldnt be a solo, it couldnt some other bands riff or a LB riff....basically it had to be something they made up.They were made to sign a contract stating that Limp Bizkit was able to use their guitar parts for any type of release.They basically stole riffs from everybody that tried out!!!How can someone just **** their own fans over like that?And to top it off, Limp Bizkit hired long time friend Mike Smith for the slot.Making the tryouts pointless.I hope Fred's demise comes very soon.A very violent and painfull demise.

Mustaine wrote a VERY awesome over 2 minute solo on Ride The Lightning. I have no idea where you got that from.

And the worst solo that I had ever heard would for sure be Smells Like Teen Spirit. Even though I enjoy the song...the solo is pure crap.

dude. i personally dont like mustaine. but ride the lightning solo is amazing. metallica started with songs like seek and destroy, also amazing. hit the lights is cool, but still, its amazin. every metallica solo is amazing (solo, this doesn't include st anger ppl)

Agreed. His solos are horribly slopy. He just hits random frets as fast as he can while randomly depressing his whammy bar.

almost all slayer solo's are just noise and wanking on the whammy bar.

Completely. Weird Al Yankovic does a brilliant parody of that song and the cover of the solo is top notch-he gargles water to produce it at the beginning, then at the end someone is playing a trumpet!

anything from nirvana and one solo only has like 4 notes in it and he repeats it.

Korn - Dirty.... well actually it's not that bad of a solo... it just disgraces most of their solos (I'm talking stuff from the 80's).... but then again it's their only real solo in tyhe past 10 years.

I'd probably say Limp Bizkit solos.

yeah well i think Dave is a better all-round guitarist than Hammet because his rhythm chops are amazing and i think he's solo's are better than most of the other guitarists that played with MEGADETH, but if you listen to 'the four horsemen' you should listen to 'Mechanix' and it's the same song, solo included.

for some reason i dont really like the solo to bloodline by slayer. i love slayer though, just cant stand that solo

The solo on 20 eyes, Evilive version, is terrible....2 or 3 notes over 4 bars, something like that.

First thing I have to say is that even tho Green Day aren't exactly musical geniuses, they are still going to be hailed as one of the greatest bands of our time.

Second, I love Morello's solos. He is fawking creative.

My vote for worst solo/WHOLE GUITAR RIFF is Black Dog by Zep. Fawk that song annoys me......

as for worst solo...i would say the solo in What Were All About (is that the title) by Sum 41. is it kerry king who is playing? its just a bunch of feedback and noise. no skill needed.
