i loved how vol. 3 had some solos, but i was quite pissed at the fact that they didnt do any of those live on ozzfest. i was hoping to see mick and jim rip it up, but i got nothing. i had gained a new respect after i heard the welcome and p.o.t.m. solos, but i soon lost it after ozzfest. and i also didnt like the fact that when i was at ozzfest i saw 12 year old kids dressed up in jump suits and masks in the crowd. it aint right.

*I love every Slipknot song actually*
And here's something to point out to u. If anyone has the S/T digipak (I do) on the inside of the first flap it says "These are Subliminal Verses". I found that kinda of weird, I mean they put that on the S/T and 5 years later the 3rd album is called Vol. 3 *(The Subliminal Verses)*. Just some kool thing I noticed.

Anybody else notice that alot of people (and myself) like the songs Diluted and Everything Ends, but they never became a single or had a video or even played at a concert rarely. I think that sucks. Diluted and Everything Ends are 2 great songs by Slipknot.

Absolutely not.They tried new things on this album.Just doing what musicians do.Had they stuck to the same old formula,that would have been selling out because "thats what everyone wants to hear".Slipknot proved they are artists with this album.They didnt paint the same potrait again.This was a ballsy record.For a band like Slipknot to pull acoustic songs in their cd,that took balls to go that direction.So no,definently not sell outs.

No, they just didn't have the same drive as they did before. If I wasn't so pissed the day I was supposed to buy it (they day it came out) I would have gotten it, but I decided to get Chimaira's Impossibilty of Reason, instead. If you want something as intense as Iowa or the S/T, get that CD. You will not be dissapointed.

Doesn't it suck to be called maggots? Seriously, why not get into the grateful dead? Dead head sounds a lot better than maggot.

I liked Iowa better, it was less generic, and more pissed. That was something I definately needed back in '01, '02, and '03. Slipknot just doesn't seem to make their point with me unless they are majorly pissed. I guess it's something I'll have to get used to.

I dont mind it.But Im not one to walk around refferening to myself as a maggot.People that do make me laugh.13 year olds.I also hate the "your not a real maggot"type of crap that they add on to it.They make up these stupid rules to being a maggot when in reality all a maggot is is a fan of the music.Its not meant to be a degrading term(well not in this case) so I dont care.I used to love older Slipknot,but the new album has strayed me away from it.Its currently in my cd player more often than anything else.

actually i agree with him on a couple things but how much guys do you need in a band like there 9 guys or w/e like i think a 5 peice is the mx but nine that like 3 bands almost thats the obly flaw i have with slipknot perosnally there not my fav but if you like them its your choice but yeh joey is pretty good at drums anyways bye

I've been reading alot more about Slipknot lately, and the dude who runs black-goat.com had this to say in regards to Slipknot and genre

That is actually on every Slipknot fansite.It wasnt written by Michael(they guy who runs black-goat)himself.I also dont agree with them being put in the Nu Metal catagory.But whatever.They are alot more metal oriented than the bands they get lumped up with in the nu metal genre.You can hear more metal influence in their music than you hear in Korn or whatever.Im prolly gonna get bashed for this,but I think Slipknot does pass for metal.

Also, another question...are there any real standout songs for Craig and Sid? It seems like they are, more often than not, doing nothing on stage...

Not really.Craig used to just do samples back then.He has a keyboard and grand piano now so he is alot more present on the new album.I guess Danger-Keep Away is his stand out track because its mostly just keyboard.Sid does some stuff,more on s/t and Vol.3 than Iowa(which he was rarely used at all).He is actually pretty decent.His solo in Disasterpiece shows it.But if they let him stand out on their albums,it would sound too much like Limp Bizkit or something.

Edit:Come to think of it,Slipknot songs would be to plain without the crazy sounds that sid and Craig incoorperate.They actually do alot for the band.
