I'd be interested to see your collection, you have some awesome taste. **** I keep forgetting things on my list!

Haha, I have a pitiful collection, I sold most of my CD's ages ago so I could buy my guitar equipment.

deftoned 01-28-2004 02:42 AM

..but you still have good taste :)

Fair enough.

deftoned 01-28-2004 03:15 AM

To the dude that has Grip Inc: Nemesis.. UP WITH LOMBARDO  that just reminded me that I own this album, I'd put it on my list, but I'm lazy as.

k'! 01-28-2004 03:22 AM

I'm too embarrassed to include my collection here. It's that pitiful. I feel bad for joining the Thrash Titans when I have a very little CD collection in comparison.

FrailandBedazzled1979 01-28-2004 03:29 AM

any Grip Inc fans?

right here, i practically worship dave lombardo

Jondur 01-28-2004 04:02 AM

The best Slayer song is of course Captor of Sin.

The genius of Reign in Blood is its completeness. Only RIB and Master of Puppets embody the pinnacle of the thrash movement. All songs complement each other and seem like a single vision - like a thrash concept album if you will.

They are probably not the best thrash albums - Game over or Darkness Descends would get my vote - but you have to take into account the time (ie 1986 - thrash's peak) and the impact they had. For example translyvanian hunger is probably better than A Blaze in the Northern Sky but it is ABTNS that is seen as the epitome of black metal for its impact and vision.

deftoned 01-28-2004 04:11 AM

^ Jondur, MAJOR ownage over everyone, as always! :thumb:

Ve Das 01-28-2004 04:16 AM

Fück yeah,Game Over owns :thumb:
Personally,I´d go Malleus Malleficarum,Darkness Descends and Fabulous Disaster :)

RideTheSpiral 01-28-2004 04:31 AM

This clan sucks.

A proper clan has to be forged in the white heat of battle, represented by only the fairest and bravest of the mighty warrors of the 7 lands.

Clearly the Circle is Superior.

Reasons:

BH: Not a bad clan. Given it was the original but it is now just a way for n00bs with about 100 posts to look cool and feel accepted. Way to lax on who it lets in. (suffering dead, seriously that guy sucks balls)

The Wives: Haha this clan has potencial but still sucks due to the crappness of the choice of title.

The Titans: Letting people into a thrash clan who only like Metallica and Megadeth. Nuf said

The Spelling Clan: :) :thumb: (down)

The Pestilence album? A curious one that - I always overlook it because consuming impulse is so great.

JMetallica 01-28-2004 04:56 AM

Spiral, go and rescue a princess on your mighty steed. :p

Yes, I would have set this almighty clan up differently, but it's not the members that makes a clan great (yes, not even me! :p ) It is the ideology that surrounds the clan, in this case it is Thrash, and nothing is greater than thrash. :p

Actually, that's probably only me. this clan seems to be rules by Exodus and Slayer fans, especially Slayer.

metdrummer 01-28-2004 05:10 AM

hm that raises some questions...

HA HA HA...

Somehow i think the Horde would take this one...

RideTheSpiral 01-28-2004 05:20 AM

Not if it was a poetry war.

JMetallica 01-28-2004 05:24 AM

Oh well... lets get some conversation happening! what are everyones top 5 thrash albums? Mine are:

1. Coroner - Punishment for Decadence
2. Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
3. Vio-lence - Eternal Nightmare
4. Dark Angel - Darkness Decends
5. Exodus - Bonded by Blood

Worthy mention to albums such as show no mercy, agent orange, pleasure to kill & coma of souls, the years of decay, rust in peace (These 5 bands are the best Thrash bands, their albums were JUST beaten by the first 5 :thumb: ) etc etc.

JMetallica 01-28-2004 05:28 AM

Conversation? Clan War? meh...

The Horde are probably bigger pansies than the bards! :p (Don't sacrifice me! I'm not a virgin! )

We'll just crank some raging thrasher and head bang you all to death... Probably JUST before we are all bored to death the poetry. :p

k'! 01-28-2004 06:02 AM

No clan wars yet eh. Come on, they'll ban clans this way. Besides, someone from the Baphomets declared an alliance before. Of course, the same can't be said about the Bards. And if I remember correctly, I had a huge argument with Chimera and Spiral over something silly about a month ago?

LordDargon 01-28-2004 06:13 AM

Well I'm back! Let's see what happened...
Holy crap! 14!?

Gees, and I thought liking priest at 18 was good.... Another salute from me!

And Lord Dragon, Chemical Warfare was from Haunting the Chapel... And everybody knows it is only the second best slayer song :P (right after TORMENTOR)
I thought Chemical Warfare was a hidden track on SNM. If not then SNM goes down a point. And I like Chem best of all their songs, without a doubt.

Hey I've been listening to slayer since I was 13! (im 15 now) Although for a 14-year-old-GIRL to be listening to slayer, that is awesome. So thats pretty cool for BPG. But not as cool as gracie :p

And how many times must I say this, it is LordDargon. I did not misspell it.

Jondur 01-28-2004 06:17 AM

The Haunting the Chapel songs were included on reissues of SNM and Hell Awaits.

Top 5 thrash?

1) Celtic Frost: Morbid Tales
2) Nuclear Assault: Game Over
3) Dark Angel: Darkness Descends
4) Bathory: The Return
5) Venom: Black Metal

ThrashMaster27 01-28-2004 06:17 AM

Top 5 albums! Tricky one!

Sepultura - Schizophrenia
Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Slayer - Show No Mercy
Exodus - Bonded By Blood

Tough choice for the last one! Either.....

Testament - The New Order/Vio-Lence - Oppressing The Masses/Anthrax - Among The Living.

k'! 01-28-2004 06:19 AM

^ ^ ^

Between Clanmates, whats the significance of that? Did you just want to misspell it on purpose or is Dargon some Mythological character only a Thrash Metaler should write a song about?

metdrummer 01-28-2004 06:23 AM

For me its....

Slayer - Reign in Blood
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Anthrax - Among the Living
Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
Metallica - ...And Justice for All

LordDargon 01-28-2004 06:47 AM

Original (good) trilogy? Or the new (lame) trilogy?

One o my faves and it just happened to put Game Over on place 4 ;)

IateTheMuffin 01-28-2004 08:47 AM

Titans of Thrash (AJFA)

IateTheMuffin 01-28-2004 09:00 AM

I cant decide, but i think i'll stick with my first choice. its my all time favorite Album, so i guess ill stick by it, even if its not as thrashy as MOP or KEA
