 That's...weird. |
Hey Txus, it seems like your copy of the album makes my computer freeze too....
Just wondering, where did you get your copy? |
From Anthony (Quortonace). That sucks man :(

I'd buy it too, but it's rare as hell. I sent it to 2 friends and it doesn't freeze them, so I guess it's itunes....but idk why itunes would make my computer freeze at the same point during a song every time i play it. |
That's really weird man, I use iTunes and it never freezes.
Well, I listened to the EP of We Followed Tigers, and I honestly have to say it's nothing special in my mind. Not saying it's bad, just it didn't grab me and make me pay attention like Isis does, or like the Red Sparowes are doing right now. Thanks anyways, though, I'll hold onto them and maybe they'll hit me later.
Yeah, give them another shot man. They've donde a lot for me, I really enjoy them.
Anyone heard of Mouth of the Architect? They're the band that originally caused me to stumble upon the genre. They've got some amazing songs (such as The Worm, which is, in my mind, a must-hear in the Post-Rock/metal genre), and some that are somewhat mediocre. But the amazing ones are well worth the listen.
Ok, so I listened to the We Followed Tigers "album" (the one with 5 songs instead of 3, anyways), and I found myself enjoying them much better than the shorter EP. Then, after that, I listened to the shorter EP again, and enjoyed that a lot better the second time around. So all in all, I warmed up to them, and they're actually quite good I think. The quality of both EPs is atrocious though....all kinds of skips.
Red Sparowes tour dates are on their site. I should be seeing them on August 23 in Cleveland. Isis will be touring with Tool then, so they will lose a guitar player (who plays for Isis).
... to fill in the missing gap, they recruited a guy from Pelican  It will be a 3 hour drive, assuming I can find it, and I have work the next day, but it would be worth it. The play with Daughters and Versoma, both of which I've never heard of. |
There's no skips when I listen to them...
There's all kinds of skips and blips for me. Oh well.
Red Sparowes is one of my favorite bands along with Muse right now, but the closest they're playing is Chicago. And I'm already making a trip there for Muse. I can't afford it again! Ugh, I hate this city. |
Red Sparowes >> Muse...Anytime!
My favorite Post Rock bands have to be Pelican and Isis. Fantastic songs and talent in both bands.
Red Sparowes >> Muse...Anytime!
Hmm....they're pretty much Red Sparowes = Muse for me right now. And I also have great company for Muse too, so that seals the deal. :) |
What a shitty tour Red Sparowes are on. I just missed seeing them last time they were on tour, now they're not even entering the southern United States. :sour:
I will be ordering a few Red Sparowes tickets, and getting a hotel reservation soon :D.
More on RS. They have a video on their myspace which tells a bit about their upcoming album. It's based on an event that happened in China in the 50s or 60s. The Chinese government wanted to make the country more productive, so they tried odd things. It was discovered that if a sparrow stayed in flight for a minute, it would have a heart attack and die, so farmers would bang pots and pans, leading to the death of millions of sparrows. This in turn caused the locust population and famine, starving citizens to death. Okay, WTF. Why would fewer birds lead to a more productive country? The band member who told the story mentioned the internet, so I wouldn't doubt if the whole story was bogus. Just watch the video for yourself. |
Hey I just got The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place and I am purely amazed. I will be purchasing Happy Songs for Happy People by Mogwai in the near future (in addition to Self Help Serenade by Marjorie Fair, which isn't post but still great music)
I never got into Mogwai for some reason. Explosion in the sky in another hand are AMAZING.
Mogwai seems a little more mainstream, at least from the little I've heard from Happy Songs for Happy People and Come on Die Young
I have both albums and they just put me to sleep, I don't find anything good in their music/atmosphere at all.
I used to have Happy Songs for Happy People, but it bored the hell out of me, so i deleted it.
Anyone here heard Russian Circles? A guy at the record store I go to recommended them to me.
I've heard of the name, not the music :(
Buy the album, tell us if it sucks or not. |
This band is awesome, not what I expected though.

Wow, that's really good. I need to look up for this guys now.
Yeah, it's REALLY good actually. I'll have to get their albums now :D
I havent listened to TRS in a while. :upset:
There's nothing on Torrents :(
