I would love to see pics of a harp in progress!

So, this bass is pretty much done. Now only one bass in progress and I think I need a rest after this one and the headless that I just completed. This has a dualcoil and a piezo bridge. Sounds very cool... looks ok too...

Sorry about the crappy backround.

Hmm, it seems that smilies count against the image count? Oh well.

EMG 81 bridge
Sharkfin inlays
Maple Fingerboard.
Licensed Flord Rose tremolo
22 Frets Jumbo frets.
Gotoh chrome tuners

im currently refinishing this now since this had a lousy finish. Also had it reshaped. POst it as soon as im done.

da_s_man13 07-03-2006 01:17 AM

Not a big fan of the Black design on the body...kinda corny. What you refinishing it to?

FunkMetalBass 07-03-2006 03:22 AM

SoM, I love the idea of using the different colored fret lines AS fret markers.

GENIUS!

Riziger 07-12-2006 08:43 AM

hmm i like both the v's

hellonearth07 07-12-2006 03:12 PM

purplehazer, espbassist, and fmb...

Hey, I like 'em too! :) (really what I mean is I'm glad you like...)

Anyways, yeah the maple for the marked frets and purpleheart for the rest did work out awesome. That's a cool bass too because of the Bart pickup plus piezo in the bridge. About the cost, they're all different but usually a bit under 2k.

Owned.

I'm going to add a P pickup, a black bridge (and some black tuners if I can find them cheap), a new nut, golden knobs and a black pickguard. I'll keep the one with the stripes ofcourse.

Backside, my oldest brother replaced the tip of the pick up selector on his 80's tele with a vintage Darth Vader head. That was kickass.

Love the fact that you routed the pots and the input like this.

backsidetailslide 07-18-2006 05:34 AM

thanks, everyone seems to like the idea

purple_hazer 07-19-2006 12:07 AM

you made that? and where do you get the bitchin knobs, i want me some star wars ones

backsidetailslide 07-20-2006 05:38 AM

simply cut off an action figures head, take a drill and drill out a hole so that the head will fit on the shaft of your pot. yeah i made that

othankheavenfor311 07-23-2006 11:50 PM

this is a guitar i recently refinished... the finish is a little darker in-person...

i am currently saving up for emgs and such... the stock pickups are crap and i dont need a guitar... so until i can get sum money it remains unfinished

CCR90 07-24-2006 11:04 AM

I think you scalloped your fretboard a little deep man.

the101er 07-24-2006 11:11 AM

The scalloping looks fine

Akira 07-24-2006 05:26 PM

I don't think you can really scallop too deep unless you see the neck through the wood.
/waits for mandatory "Scallopwned" picture

Akira 08-06-2006 11:47 AM

There we go. The best part about that picture is some poor guy actually asked is he filed too much.

da_s_man13 08-07-2006 12:51 AM

You can even see the maple neck showing thru the fretboard. That picture will never get old.
