Could somebody recommend me some bands similiar to the style of Devin Townsend? He's the only metal I've been able to stomach. I've checked most of the sub genres of metal and I don't think any of them sound close to him.

Hopefully this will catch peoples attentions about this :

you obviously don't read the thread. This is about awnsering requests, not just randomly throwing out albums/songs for no reason. And if you are going to suggest something, just don't make a list. Give justified reasons behind it to give people insentive to check it out or spark some intrest.

Napalm Death - Scum

Carcass:
Reek of Putrefaction
Symphonies of Sickness
Necrotism: Descanting the Inslabrious

My knowledge of grind is limited, so hopefully someone else will come along and add more.

jpj 01-08-2005 11:49 AM

What Porcupine Tree CD should I get?

funk_rock_jazz_drummer 01-08-2005 12:28 PM

And besides the wall, wish you were here, and DSOTM, what do you think is the next best floyd album.

Can anyone recomend me some obscure Jethro Tull album tracks?

jpj 01-08-2005 02:04 PM

Aqualung and Thickasabrick are their best albums.

If you just want songs anything off of Aqualung, Bouree, Heavy Horses, Locomotive Breath, and Bungle In the Jungle.

CaptainWaits 01-08-2005 08:05 PM

I like "Stand Up" the Best

dUSK 01-11-2005 09:20 AM

ChimPz 01-11-2005 04:28 PM

I suddenly have this urge to listen to more trash metal

So i'd like some recommendations for songs that are 'typical' for the following bands: Exodus, Testament, Megadeath. Typical meaning songs that give you a good idea of how your average 'input band here' songs sound like.

Joe 01-11-2005 04:31 PM

hey is the Crossfade CD any good??? I really like that song "Cold" and i was curious if the rest of the CD was any good

Paranoidd 01-11-2005 04:53 PM

Could anybody recommend some Sonic Youth?

I've heard much about them, but sadly, have not heard a single song of theirs.
What Porcupine Tree CD should I get?
I know this is old...but I would say get Signify...or Voyage 34.

If you want something easier to listen to, get In Absentia.

Woodstock 01-11-2005 05:32 PM

Huber 01-11-2005 05:38 PM

Silenius 01-11-2005 06:43 PM

Any reccomendations for very keyboard oriented Black Metal. Doesn't have to be super symphonic, just incorperating keyboards well.
