What about the entire DC hardcore scene, one of richest and most authentic DIY punk scenes ever?
I don't really listen to any hardcore or punk so I wouldn't know.

there's really not a lot of big bands out of South Dakota, but a mate of mine is starting out "Daytrader" www.bigrecords.com. and i don't mind them, but the closest to me is Bright eyes (omaha) which is abou 2-3 hours away, and i am a big fan of them.

JonM 10-24-2005 09:39 PM

My favorite group from Georgia is the Atlanta Falcons ;)

pikester 10-24-2005 09:59 PM

A few people have done all of Canada so far, so I'm going to give BC/Vancouver a try.

Nickelback was the first thing I thought of :upset:
The New animal photographsographers/AC Newman (I think)
In Medias Res (awesome local band, probably doesn't count in this thread)

This is harder than I thought it would be. There's tons more, but none of them are A&I that I can think of. (help from EightMiles?)

EDIT: Sweet, Pornographers is censored.
The New animal photographsographers
First thing I thought, "Man, those people are really ripping off the New Pornographers. I wonder if they know?"

Well there are too many too mention from my country (England) but there are a few good localish acts that came from my area..

Hard Fi came from staines which is like half an hour away from where I live.
David essex came from around where I live.

and the two BEST people that lived in my town are:

Eric Clapton (who went to my school)
and Brian May.
