I'm a fan of System's music but the whole anti-political/capatilism thing annnoys me. Firstly, they release Steal This Album, basically its filled with songs that weren't good enough to get on Toxicity, if that isn't a cash in, I don't know what is. Secondly, their upcoming albums. Wheres the need for two? Well apart from being double the cash in take for System.
And finally:
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Those lyrics are weak, thats the only thing that can be said. If you saw that in the Songwriting part of this forum, you would laugh at this person. Simple as that. Apart from that, good band.
When, exactly does it come out?
It comes out On May 17th in the US

misunderstood 05-05-2005 01:05 PM

There's going to be an exclusive listening party here in Austin this Saturday (May 7th)...This should be intersting. I wonder if they'll be doing something similar to NIN where they had listening parties all over the place and gave out free stuff.

Skit 05-05-2005 01:07 PM

Heh shame thousands of people have already heard the album

azbassman 05-05-2005 01:09 PM

Toxicity was the first SOAD album that i bought......so im not one of those ppl that say the S/T was the only good album....i mean there are significant differences between the albums, but there still SOAD.....one of the weirder songs off of Toxicity was the Prison Song, and i liked it.....i am a big fan of SOAD always will be... because i personally like everyone of there albums

Iceman-rocker 05-05-2005 08:48 PM

wooooo bass!

PepsiMetal 05-05-2005 10:23 PM

I just downloaded the new mesmerize album. It's pretty good. Kill rock n roll and holy mountain are not on it. Im assuming they'll be on hypnotize. This album is unlike previous soad albums. They have so many more accoustical parts in their songs. Lost in hollywood is basically all acoustical song. And daron's voice is so freaking weird in that song. BYOB, is also pretty good, it has great parts to it. I also like Sad Statue. That song kicks some major ass. Chorus is just beautiful imo. I know lyrics are very political and about this iraqi war, but really song itself is great if you dont care about meaning of lyrics. :)

Here are couple of songs I've uploaded.

Im not going to upload whole CD cause that's not cool for the band.

Turkish 05-05-2005 11:17 PM

my favorite song by System would have to be P.L.U.C.K. followed closely by Soil

azbassman 05-09-2005 01:20 PM

theres been a lot of therads of SOAD maybe you should make this official

Six Foot Revolver 05-09-2005 01:49 PM

The mods are not making anymore official threads and it would be kinda pointless seeing that after the new albums come out all the threads will stop.

grungeboygtr 05-09-2005 04:18 PM

the guitarist is probably the most talented off the group and thats not saying too much the drummer isnt bad but serj and shavo are crap...just my opinion

Darkko 05-09-2005 04:28 PM

Daron should get his own band. It'd be the weirdest music ever recorded.

SlashHalen 05-09-2005 05:06 PM

just got Mezmerize pretty good i guess. BYOB rocks. Yeah good history short and sweet.

PepsiMetal 05-11-2005 03:24 PM

Did anyone else notice how cool riffs are on this new album? I mean listen to songs like Lost in hollywood, radio/video, violent photography, etc. Those slow acoustical intros/riffs are awesome. Much better than his previous work imo.
Yet you downloaded it :p

Yea, I hate myself, but I had to dl it since I dont have a job yet.

Quite far from it, actually.

TheSubtleArts 05-11-2005 03:47 PM

there were rumors of Daron starting a solo career too. but in an interview he said he would rather just be part of SOAD.

Ultimate Donky 05-11-2005 03:52 PM

I don't think there would be any reason for Daron to have a solo band, he gets to do pretty much what he wants with SOAD. Like they said he writes 90% of the stuff anyway. And yes, Daron is a weird guy, but there are many weirder bands than SOAD.

PepsiMetal 05-11-2005 06:55 PM

He also has like different voices. For example, in lost in hollywood, it's so **** weird (but in a good way), and in other songs it's different.

tunafish_scumbag 05-11-2005 07:17 PM

Daron obviously has alot of creative control on the new album (he basically wrote everything and played bass on the album). Has it always been this way?
