14.

^They wouldnt let me post just 14 so I had to put somethin else lol

drumfreak 11-10-2004 08:31 PM

Huh cool I'm 14 too. How long have you played guitar?

ClayTheJ 11-10-2004 08:35 PM

Bout 8 months probably

drumfreak 11-10-2004 08:37 PM

Can you play blink, sum 41, greenday and all their stuff. I mean not all of it but some of their stuff?

ClayTheJ 11-10-2004 08:39 PM

Play all Blink stuff, can't do all Sum 41 stuff but most of what I've heard, some of Dave's solos are really hard, and yea Green Day stuff is pretty easy

drumfreak 11-10-2004 08:40 PM

So your a pretty good guitarist. Well then again none of their stuff is that hard. I can play most of it on guitar. Yes I play guitar too. I'm just 80 times better at drums.

ClayTheJ 11-10-2004 08:43 PM

I wouldn't call myself a good guitarist, lol, but I'm pretty good for 8 months, and my band that I've been with for about 4 months is startin to get pretty good but my bassist quit cuz he was b*tchin about not gettin enough vocals, I tabbed some of my guitar parts for the songs at mx, under Unneeded And Unwanted, if you wanna look at it go for it, but those are the easy songs that I can tab quickly

drumfreak 11-10-2004 08:46 PM

Ok I look just for the heck of it. Dude we have like 5 conversations going all on different threads.

drumfreak 11-10-2004 08:47 PM

You know what would be a really gay thread a Clay the J and drumfreak thread.

ClayTheJ 11-10-2004 08:48 PM

We could always start one though, lol, goin to bed tired as shiz from my exciting chorus concert

And to make sure this thread doesn't get to off topic, Sum 41 is cool

drumfreak 11-10-2004 08:50 PM

Yeah see ya.

drumfreak 11-10-2004 08:51 PM

Sum 41 Rocks!!

TheBassicBassist 11-11-2004 06:35 AM

whoa that should have taken place in "The Pit"
Good for you! And yes the drum part is easy. It's just a normal song with a bunch of metal riffs. Newbie drummers thinks its hard because of the double bass.
its spelled n00b and he is not a n00b drummer, trust me
Originally posted by ClayTheJ
But you don't understand, this guys tab was like, better than tab book stuff lol, my tabs suck, I made a tab for welcome to hell (guitar), short and easy song
can you tab the bass part too, the one on mx is way off
Originally posted by ClayTheJ
There are alot of people talking in this thread

So I don't know much about Sum 41, should I ask for Does This Look Infected for X mas
oh yeah, it would be a shame not to

TheBassicBassist 11-11-2004 06:37 AM

Sum 41 Rocks more than Rocking allows them to

ClayTheJ 11-11-2004 09:03 PM

Don't play bass, and the part in Welcome To Hell sounds hard, all I can do to help you with it is to say good luck, just kinda look off the bottom note of the powerchord, that might help a little bit

TheBassicBassist 11-12-2004 06:26 AM

no, because the bass part is independent for this song, and its really not too hard at all, I just can't figure it out, I have a bad ear for figuring out music

ClayTheJ 11-12-2004 08:24 PM

I can only figure out powerchord stuff and thats all Welcome to Hell is, very unlike sum 41 lol

kOffkOff 11-13-2004 08:41 AM

"We are all to blame" sounded like it was ripped off from System Of A Down's "Chop Suey". Not only do they have similar melody, the structure to the song is similar too.

Well, I'm sure many others have noticed this.

StoneHenge1 11-13-2004 11:40 AM

Chuck frigging rocks yo!

TheBassicBassist 11-13-2004 01:52 PM

yeah I'm sure alot of people haven't noticed it since they are so unalike I could puke on it

TheBassicBassist 11-18-2004 07:48 AM

what songs are they performing in their tour to anyone who has been to a new performance?

metal_milita 11-20-2004 10:08 PM

about how the got attacked in africa, does anyone have the details???

btw, the live performance of we're all to blame doesn't sound great.... derycks seems to be singing off-key

ClayTheJ 11-20-2004 10:12 PM

Don't belive many others have noticed this cuz I see no resemblence other than there being guitar bass drums and vocals that are put into the song to make music out of it, other than that I see no connection

All i know about them in that fight or whatever is that Chuck escorted them to safety and over 20 other people when a battle broke out

stke22 11-21-2004 03:28 PM

Deryck's got bronchitis I think, or I heard from some people... He cancelled the Vancouver show a while back...

metal_milita 11-21-2004 05:40 PM

he cancelled the vancouver show??? bastard, i would have went, but i never heard about it. wierd.

TheBassicBassist 11-21-2004 10:00 PM

he always sounds off key live  , its not the best live show ever but they are a good group :thumb: :D

okay they were shooting a documentary with the group War Child Canada in a country where a serious war broke out a few years back and almost everybody fought in it, including kids who hadn't even hit puberty yet :upset:   , it was a very serious and brutal war and Sum 41 felt really bad for the kids and people, so they decided to help with the documentary, and while filming a small war broke out and there were guns and explotions and stuffand Sum 41 ran and hid in a bathroom for awhile, and Chuck organized an escape for them and some other people, they were grateful to him even though the experience didn't make them appreciate their lives any more than they already did but they felt indebted to him and decided to call their new album Chuck after him, I respect that guy for saving their lives like that. If you need anymore information go to http://www.sum41.com and skip the intro and when the site finishes loading go over to the left put your cursor on the link labeled something like music & videos or something and do not click then move down to the sublinks and click on WHO IS CHUCK and read the story

anyway, I hope thats good enough for you, enjoy the new CD

metal_milita 11-23-2004 10:43 PM

honestly, thanks for that post i most likely won't go to that link, but its nice to know that.
and actually, they don't usually sound off-key live. i've seen most of their performances live, its just that one time. his voice doesn't sound off key, it seems like the mikes volume was too high and he was trying to sing softly so they don't drone out the guitar (which is so not metal and rock tutut). my opinion.

but honestly my favourite songs are like "welcome to hell (awsome bass line, cone shows his stuff)" "88 (best metal feel in entire cd, kick *** tapping solo by dave (once again))" "we're all to blame (obvioulsy, that song is pretty good (the still waiting or fatlip of their new CD)" "the bitter end (best song in entire CD with a kickass metallica style solo (literally, it sounds ripped off of battery/but dave still does do an awsome job)) and "the reason (has their old punk feel, but with more meaningful lyrics and a better musicial structure).
we're all to blame (obvioulsy, that song is pretty good (the still waiting or fatlip of their new CD)"
I love we are all to blame. Two thumbs up :thumb::thumb:

ClayTheJ 11-24-2004 08:52 PM

We're all to blame is a good song, but I think '88' is the best song on the new CD
