My favourite song is Run Like Hell, when i hear it off PULSE i get chills up my spine. incredible. my mum and dad were at the actual concert that they filmed and recorded the soundtrack from! the jealousy is just huge!
I dont know that guy was pretty twisted
Piper at the Gates of Dawn is a chapter from the book A Wind in the Willows. Thats where it comes from.

DeusExMachina 10-17-2004 10:28 AM
pink floyd is one of the greatest bands one all time.
they made music into art and symbolism

my favorite ablum right now is the wall because all the songs go together so well and for the person who asked the wall is a story on roger waters aka 'pink' who is a burnout rockerstar who just sits in his hotel room all day, building a 'wall' around himself and his emotions.

i havent yet watched DSotM with wizard of OZ but i heard somewhere that alice in wonder land is also synced with the wall but im not sure if its true

also i dont think pink floyd will ever get back together because their are to much arrguements over money and they just arent getting along.

I might be going to see the Australian Pink Floyd show soon
if any one has seen it please tell me if its good or not
The Australian Pink Floyd show is incredible. I saw it back in April. They're really really good. Also, don't bother with those supposed "synchs," they're really overrated.

Lumiere 10-17-2004 10:45 AM

I've bought the PF Q special edition. It's not as good as the Led Zep or Radiohead ones, but it's still thoroughly informative and interesting.

FIGPASTE 10-17-2004 10:54 AM

I know this is noobish but Im confused
What albums is Sid Byrett on?

Lumiere 10-17-2004 11:17 AM

Yes, it's just PATGOD. And he's present on a bit of A Saucerful Of Secrets too.

He also has two original solo albums - The Madcap Laughs and Barrett.

There's also a rarities album called Opel, but it's poor at best.

Kingofdudes 10-17-2004 11:19 AM
*Syd Barrett ;)

He's only on their debut, The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn I think.

If anyone wants a really good link for Pink Floyd...http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/
Good site so far :thumb:

Pink Floyd has been all-time favorite band since 5th grade. I can still remember that moment my older friend told me to listen to Time. I was amazed.

I appreciate all music by Pink Floyd. Whether it be Syd Barrett's debut, or Gilmour's solo albums.

There is an upcoming Aus Pink Floyd concert in my city. I've already booked tickets and its in November 21st I think... Since my generation is too young to have heard Pink Floyd in their 'prime' this would really be the chance of a lifetime to hear at least something near Pink Floyd. They say Gilmour is a fan of the Aus Pink Floyd himself.

Floydian 10-17-2004 03:40 PM

IMO their most haunting lyrics are from hey you, the version of comfortably numb from pulse is the best, but the one performed with NIN, David Bowie etc. is also v. good

lunch998 10-17-2004 03:46 PM

Nevermind, I posted a link to a good site but it didn't work.

Riva 10-17-2004 03:52 PM

I've heard some of Syd Barrett's solo work; my favourite song would be Here I Go, off the Madcap Laughs. However, his solo work pales when compared to his time with Pink Floyd.

I dont think ive ever done a search on the web without that site coming up first. Very infromative and great site for floyd, on my favorites now. Only thing its missing is 100% accurate, and organized, Tabs.

I know a great Zeppelin site like that with totally accurate tabs and just about everything youve ever needed to know, but this istn the place to discuss.

Im thinkin of painting a big Pink Floyd - DSOTM album cover on my basement wall. I dont know if ive brought this up before, but if by any chance somebody here know how to go about painting on my wall something like this, could you give me some basic pointers on how to...like what kind of paint, how do get the measurements right, etc.? Im, of course, probably not doing it myself because om no artist, but it would be very helpful

Kingofdudes 10-17-2004 03:58 PM

That site has tabs :thumb:

Sorry, cant help with the paint

edit: bleh

Riva 10-17-2004 04:01 PM

Use acrylic water based paint. Unless you like passing out to turps, and getting great big stains everywhere that cannot be washed off. Also, make sure you trace the design before you paint it.

Acrylic is oil-based, tempera paint is water based, I think. Maybe I'm completely wrong.

-Listy- 10-17-2004 05:13 PM

..And my favourite PF song for today is High Hopes

Orange Fog 10-17-2004 06:34 PM

Riva 10-17-2004 06:43 PM

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 10-17-2004 07:59 PM

Its not that its long its that is pointless...

Riva 10-17-2004 08:50 PM

Shine On You Crazy Diamond drags on a bit.

Shadows_Fall 10-17-2004 08:51 PM

Comfortbaly Numb is my favorite track, I love the guitar solo's in thier simplicity but the way every note sings is just so beautiful, every time i hear it, it makes the hairs on my arm stand up, it's just so beautiful, and the way the rest of the song is very simple and has a very slow kinda almost eerie vibe to it, it's amazing, my dad burnt this CD and it has Motorhead's "The Game" on it (****ing kick *** song!) and right after he put comfortably numb, and oddly enough, it fits that song can go after any song and still contain all that emotion and beauty and i've yet to find another song that can do that!

Kingofdudes 10-17-2004 08:53 PM

Comfortably Numb is great on the David Gilmour DVD, except for the people he gets to do the spoken parts...

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 10-17-2004 08:58 PM
