br3ad_man 04-24-2004 08:42 PM

^^^^ What is the Meeting People DVD like? Is it really good? Is there much "bad stuff" in it? I'm thinking of buying it.

TheClashing 04-24-2004 09:04 PM

Yeah, I've been meaning to pick it up. Its a documentary, correct?

Well, I'm listening to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club right now.

Lately I've been listening to the Smiths a lot, mainly the album "The Queen is Dead" and a few songs that I downloaded. They're really good, I already want to buy another one of their albums.

Also I've been listening to a band called Naked City, this John Zorn avante-garde band. They were a definite influence on Fantomas, so if you like Fantomas then check out Naked City.

And I've been listening to "Grace" by Jeff Buckley.

radianteclipse 04-25-2004 12:47 PM

I'm a big metal head usually, but lately I have gotten into Death Cab for Cutie, The Lovers, Bright Eyes, etc.

It's pretty much a documentary on OK Computer and their 1997-1998 tour. There's a lot of interviews with the band and clips from some of the shows, and really that's about it, with the exception of some "arty" footage that's reminiscent of parts of the Fugazi Instrument video. There's also some footage of Radiohead in the studio. As for "bad stuff", there's some footage of Thom Yorke with a wine bottle and the dreaded eff-word a few times, if that's what you meant by "bad stuff".

Anjuli 04-25-2004 08:59 PM

I've been listening to Cap'n Jazz and Bjork lately. And A Perfect Circle.

I finally got into Modest Mouse, and I've been on a Bowie fix recently (even though I've liked him for the longest time) which may have something to do with seeing him live last friday. :)
I finally got into Modest Mouse
heh, i was just about to post the same thing

maybe it's because of the mood i've been in lately or something, but i was never really a big fan until tonight "life like weeds" came on my playlist and i didn't know what song it was...

then after i realized it was modest mouse i downloaded a bunch of songs by them. after hearing "dramamine" i decided they officially rock.

neal_672 04-28-2004 02:20 PM

Right now it's ash for me, i can't wait to get their new album even though i've already seen them play it all live, and i will do again at Leeds Fest :thumb:

OrbDragon 04-29-2004 04:46 AM

I rediscovered Muse too...Origin Of Symmetry is good.

Also:

Mogwai - Happy Songs For Happy People
dEUS - The Ideal Crash
Pixies - Doolittle
Aphex Twin - I Care Because You Do
Desert Sessions - Volume 9&10
Death Cab For Cutie - Tansatlanticism
Flaming Lips - Transmissions From The Satellite Heart
Sarah McLachlan - Surfacing

I have yet to listen to my latest purchase, Damien Rice's debut cd...but I'm sure I'll dig it. I remember going to the record store when I bought my first Ani DiFranco record. I heard this amazing song with this incredibly sexy female vocalist...I told the shopkeeper, what record this was...she said "Damien Rice". I guess that settles that.

Tomahawk 04-29-2004 11:20 PM

I downloaded some songs by "TV on the Radio", and I'm loving them. I wanna get my hands on their album as soon as possible. If you wanna check out some songs, get "Blind", "Staring at the Sun", and their cover of the Pixies song "Mr Grieves".

I've also started getting into Modest Mouse, Squarepusher, and the Boredoms.
