Well, I've decided today, I'm buying a telecaster.
Well, I've decided today, I'm buying a telecaster.
The standard one of one of the awesome ones?

Good choice though, teles are cool.

Badmoon 12-01-2004 07:39 PM

Well, what do you mean by "awesome one".

lunch998 12-01-2004 07:45 PM
Well, what do you mean by "awesome one".
One of the custom ones or limited edition ones that cost much more than the Standard Tele.

Badmoon 12-01-2004 07:48 PM

Why would anyone want a silly limited edition one? It's like the same thing, but spray painted gold., and they cost $80000

I'm getting a standard.

Good point. They sell the "American Custom" and stuff like that for 800$ and up, where as the standards only cost around 400$.
well at least some of us have our heads on straight. it's a start. i'm wanna see some band come along and revitalize the classic rock style...
but with out the extreemly tite pants

magicbus 12-01-2004 08:04 PM

I'm pretty sure its "tight". And english.

Thanks on the avatar. I liked the "psychadelia" of the bus, but it was too colorful for my style. I decided to find another Morrison one (sans nipples) and I think this one's pretty cool.

I think we should start sending n00bs to this thread:
http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=272068

so we can have this one to ourselves.

Badmoon 12-01-2004 08:16 PM

Well actually, most standard tele's are around $600.

Riva 12-01-2004 08:18 PM

lunch998 12-01-2004 08:28 PM

Heavey Riva is the anti-noob, so no flaming.

We uselss talk about random things, sometimes like the community thread but it relates to Classic Rock somehow.

Riva 12-01-2004 08:32 PM

Ahh... I see. Much like the other official threads. Makes sense.

So, *clears throat* has anyone heard of an Australian progressive rock band called Galadriel?

magicbus 12-01-2004 08:36 PM

I've never heard of them. What do they sound like?

thickasabrick 12-01-2004 09:47 PM

edit- k its fixed..i like your new avatar Magicbus.

thickasabrick 12-01-2004 09:55 PM

just to catch up...

i'ts probably too late, but from L.A. woman i would choose Riders on the Storm, LA Woman, Hyacinth House and Roadhouse Blues.

Telecasters are awesome. i almost bought one not too long ago. if you get texas special humbuckers they sound incredible.

i've never heard of Galadriel, but they sound interesting (LOTR fans im assuming?)
any song/album recommendations?

Illmatic 12-01-2004 09:57 PM

Call me crazy, but I was never a big Telecaster guy. Don't know why.

gmoneyguy 12-01-2004 10:03 PM
Call me crazy, but I was never a big Telecaster guy. Don't know why.
Teles have more of twang tone, good for blues and country. It all depends on your style and what type of tone you like.
Call me crazy, but I was never a big Telecaster guy. Don't know why.
some people don't like them, not a big deal. they are more popular in country music actually, due to the nice twang you can get from them. but i like that sound, keith richards, bruce springsteen and jimmy page can't be wrong can they?

edit- of course guitrguy beats me to it.

thickasabrick 12-01-2004 10:26 PM

Badmoon 12-01-2004 10:28 PM

thickasabrick 12-01-2004 10:29 PM
