Zappa 05-05-2006 05:32 PM

The Aquabats rule.
The Aquabats rule.
I imagine they'll be fun live, but most of they're stuff I've heard is just plain annoying.

Glitterati 05-05-2006 05:49 PM

TMV - D-L'D In The CMTRIUM

God I'm lazy.

Zappa 05-05-2006 06:00 PM

Brian Eno and John Cale - Wrong Way Up
Gang Of Four - Entertainment!

The former I just got today. It is subtle and odd, and I think it will take a few more listens to click. The latter is a long-standing favorite.

The Great Decay 05-05-2006 06:39 PM

Cursive - Burst and Bloom
Sonic Youth - Sister

pixiesfanyo 05-05-2006 08:22 PM

Time of Orchids - Sarcast While

Kind of a proggesive, art rock record. Has five vocalist, the main one sounds like Toby Driver, so of course I dig it.

Modern Life is War - Witness

Probably one of the best hardcore albums ever made. The lyrics, music and everything is perfect. Length could be longer, I think I should've boughten this when I had it in my hand for five dollars. Oh well. My dled copy has been taking some misuse.
Time of Orchids - Sarcast While
I notice an enormous similarity between the font on the front cover of this album and the font on the front cover of Choirs of the Eye.

The Great Decay 05-05-2006 08:53 PM

All of my Elliott Smith albums on shuffle is a beautiful thing.

Tzadik releases all of it's releases with that kind of cover.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 05-05-2006 09:31 PM

Sonic Youth and Talking Heads.

ATM 05-05-2006 11:28 PM

I really like the Andrew Bird bootleg I have.

Little Man being Erased 05-06-2006 12:01 AM

I dig the new Mudhoney song. It's pretty rad.

Nomeansno - Wrong
Television - Marquee Moon
Neil Young - Harvest
Bob Dylan - Bringing it All Back Home
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust

All completely awesome.

br3ad_man 05-06-2006 05:04 AM

I've been listening to ASMZ a lot today. I used to think they were lame, but now I think that this Born Into Trouble... album I have is awesome.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 05-06-2006 06:45 AM

Bolt Thrower - Mercenary
Justin Timberlake - Justified

Death metal and Justin Timberlake. Weird but oddly cool combination.

Little Man being Erased 05-06-2006 07:40 AM

Oh yeah you love the JT. I'm finally downloading that album now.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 05-06-2006 08:13 AM
You people must have missed the JT craze like three years ago. I was the leader
There was a JT craze?
Here?
Strange.

I liked his singles when they came out. I don't know how anyone couldn't like Rock Your Body, if only as a guilty pleasure.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 05-06-2006 08:16 AM

Haha, maynard666.
The sad thing is someone would actually have that name.

Little Man being Erased 05-06-2006 08:35 AM
You people must have missed the JT craze like three years ago. I was the leader
Well we can't all be expected to be as hip or "cool" as the SOP now can we? And anyway, three years ago, I think I hated JT. :(

p.s. metallicajaymz = nacho if i'm not mistaken

Zebra 05-06-2006 08:35 AM

Tortoise - TNT

This is probably my favorite post-rock album of all time. Jetty is an amazing song.

pixiesfanyo 05-06-2006 09:07 AM
Haha, I can show you the thread if you want. I got slaughtered by about twenty people with names like 'metallicajaymz' and 'maynard666' before nacho close this'd it.
Isn't Metallicajaymz Nacho?

I'm listening to Spiral Architect - A Sceptic's Universe.

It's probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I like it though, it's kind interesting to hear people play their insturments this well. I think screaming would've fit the vocals better though, but the big epic vocals are pretty good, and the production on the album isn't as bad as something like Dream Theater or Devin Townshend. They could move the drums up in the mix though.
