Eh, R&M is kind of slow these days, and there's hardly any interesting threads now that they went all nazi with the YSI. I usually stay in the sub-forums of The Pit, but there was just so much stupidity going on I couldn't resist.
|
It is a little slow, but it'll pick back up in good time.
|
I got OK Computer the other day. It's good, and I think it'll grow on me more. Is there another Radiohead album I should have gotten first?
|
Nah, OK Computer is the album you need to get first in my opinion. At first I didn't like it, but I was persistant and determined to find out what everyone thought was so special about them. Then, after about two weeks of listening to it, it hit me straight on and I was hooked.

I'm sure it will, it always seems to anyways. And Slipt, that's the one I started with, but there's no real right answer to the question. I went OKC => Kid A => The Bends => Hail to the Thief. |

Soon as the new Tool comes out. :D |

No, that's a great start really now you should get Kid A another masterpiece by this guys. |
I think The Bends is the easiest album to get into. OK Computer is so good that its acquiring isn't that difficult, though.
|
Oh man, I just watched Opeth's Lamentations dvd, and Tool's OK show back to back. It was orgasmic. :D
Highlights of the OK show: 4:30 into The Grudge when its just Danny Carey for a few seconds, and when he hits the drums bright white lights come on behind him. And the big balls of balloons that are floating during Parabola. |
I need the first part of the OK show in mpg some day
|
I uploaded dude... you missed your chance.
|
I'm feeling jolly tonight so I'll start it before I go to bed and I should be able to put it up before I go to class in the morning, assuming I won't get banned for posting the link. I do have a no-banning streak to keep alive.

Good for you. Not so good for me. Hey, ThePatient, I owe you one if you do |
So last Saturday my Toolophile friend simply handed me his copy of eMotive. He claimed he hasn't listened to any CDs in ages and that he's just going to buy an MP3 player soon anyways.
Anyways, who actually likes this album? I've heard tons of criticism about it, but I think there's some really strong tracks. |
I think the album is complete crap. It got one star on Sputnik, but it should have gotten zero.
|
Emotive was ill-inspired.
|
The first 4 songs rock, the rest was a joke.
|
I think it's a strong album, a very atmospheric album, always puts me in a doomsday kind of mood.. I'd give it 3.5-4/5
|
I'd give it a 2/5.
|
Emotive IMHO has only 1 good song which is Passive the rest is Utter crap.
|

Ok, but now compare it to Mer de Noms or 13th Step. |
I don't do that.... I listen to music without.. .. pre..something something, damn my limited english
|
Emotive was ill-inspired.
Very true. |
Emotive IMHO has only 1 good song which is Passive the rest is Utter crap.
I hate Passive with a great passion. |
Knifeboy, do you have AIM or an e-mail address I could send the link to, just in case so I don't get banned. I'm starting the upload now, so it should be done in the morning.
And eMotive is ok. But Passive is quite possibly my favorite APC song, I just can't get enough of it. |
bigfatf @ gmail.com without the spaces.
And because I've seen other guys pimp your threads here, I will do so too.. http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=394034 .. Not alot of words, but it's music, no words are needed |
Anyone know where I can get a full length DVD of Tool? I though Salival had some, but I can't find that anywhere...****in' pissin me off!
|
Wow, haven't seen you in quite a while!..
There's no official Tool dvd out, your best bet is bootlegs |

That's great! Do you have anything online I could hear?
|

yeah www.myspace.com/silverstone |
This is cool.... Sounds very proffesional.. Reminds me of early Creed, only with better vocals
|

Haha, I'm so used to hearing that. Its one of those things, I'm around it all the time, I dont even hear it anymore. The guy who produced us is pretty **** amazing, so I give a lot of credit to him. |
Ah damn, I once promised myself I wouldn't compare new bands to other bands (because I know how annoying that gets after a while).. I just failed, me thinks

Nah, its all good. I like all comments, even negative ones...as long as there's some thought behind it. I mean, we put our stuff up on Garageband.com and let me tell you, those guys are just mean for the sake of being it! I find it counter-productive. Its all good though man, thanks for listening! That means more to me than anything. Someone just giving it a chance |
Anytime..
I know what you mean.. These days, getting people to listen is the hard part.. what, with the internet, and the overabundance of bands one click away |
I could probable manage to send you Aenima, the album, in an email at reduced quality if you posted it, if i don't someone else will.
Yeah that'd be awesome. The e-mail is Daniel_Mizuzack_Lives@hotmail.com |
I love Brandon Boyd's voice. It think what you guys dislike is the vocal harmonies. He's a really **** good singer, better than Maynard in my opinion, just not as cool sounding.
ATTN: I now have the coolest name for my band!!! Lucid Dreams.
No, I just don't like his voice or lyrics. He is incredibly whiny and has a very limited range. When he tries to reach higher notes, he's off key and sounds like a girl. |

What do you play? The music is outrageously professional. |
