The Downfall solo is hard to nail. I know there's going to be someone saying I can play it, well no.
There's a section in Hatebreeder with sweeps that's hard.
Warheart solo
Hate Me solo, album version is a bit ghey to play.
Children of Decadence
Kissing the Shadows
Hate Crew Deatholl solo is pretty tricky, as is Living Dead Beat.
We're Not Gonna Fall.

I'd say the hardest riffs are on HCDR. Needled intro riff, Bodom Beach Terror verse and interlude, Triple Corpse hammerblow lead riff, You're Better Off Dead intro all have fast stuff. The solos's for them are hard too.
if you think those riffs are hard you should download this thing that alexi made. its called something like Reap and Roll lics. something of that nature lol. but it shows a lot of COB songs. should help ya out a bit!

I have,

Reap n Roll Licks "AYDY licks" & the one with "HCDR" licks

I have passage to the reaper

+ A TV rip of a concert in Nosturi on the AYDY tour.

They AYDY one is hella sloppy. A couple of the riffs are hard to watch.

I think for learning some Bodom, I'll either learn the parts I don't know of Bodom Beach Terror or Triple Corpse Hammerblow. I played through TCHB and didn't have any trouble, so I might start that once I'm done learning Lashed To The Slave Stick.

I've finally kicked my arse into gear and learning the whole song instead of half of songs, then learning 5 more half songs.

Whats wrong with cobs main website?
@Che Guevara:
i have problems with the following part:
20----------18---------17-----------15-13-----13
---18---18----18---18---18----18---------13---
------17----------17----------17-------------------

John Petrucci is playing it too fast on the video to see anything. the only thing i could realize is that his finger #1 stays on the 13th fret. can you tell me with which fingers do you play this arpeggio?!

edit:
I'm Charming was faster than me with bumping this up :D

i once tried to play the sweeps... too fast for me.. though they aren't hard... only fast
actually Ducran said that tab was slighty off...

but if I were to play that, when i would jump to the 20th fret (pinky) and index on the pinky.

As far as "proper" fingers go, there really is no such thing. Id say stick to what is comfortable

I can already play them all, I'm just saying I think they're some of the harder Bodom riffs and solos. I have Reap N Roll licks.

....what about their Britney Spears cover? hahaha, now THAT was sick!!

honestly, all their albums are great, except i think i like Hate Crew Deathroll or Follow The Reaper are a little better than the new one, but i like all the keyboards, like in "Trashed, Lost and Strungout"

FTR is the best. I've been getting into HCDR a lot more as of late. It has some of their best songs.

Can anyone play Triple Corpse Hammerblow? I've thought of learning it and it didn't seem hard when I played through it.

Shadows 03-15-2006 03:28 PM

No Bodom song seems hard at first. It probably is one way or another though, I seem to remember some tough riffs in TCH, even though I haven't listened to it in a long time.

Sixpounder is rather easy, the solos are hard though. Needled 24/7 is pretty easy in most parts. The intro solo/leads are rather easy. Bodom Beach Terror is mostly easy.

Shadows 03-15-2006 03:41 PM

I'm going to start learning Sixpounder soon. I have the solos tabbed perfectly, but can anyone link me to a GP tab of the full song? The riffs in the tabs I've seen look wrong.

if this is slightly off, do you play it in a different way? if yes, can you post your tabs?

kurrpt 03-15-2006 04:02 PM

ill have to get back to ya on that in like 2 days...

if you are feeling adventurous, ducran DID post it pages back

Isn't that supposed to be one of Bodom's easier tracks?

Ask Mitch. I'm pretty sure he has it.
Isn't that supposed to be one of Bodom's easier tracks?
It really is (even I learned it) aside from the solos. Those are hard as hell IMO.

Yeah it's quite easy.

The first solo is hard but if I worked on it... It wouldn't be. The second solo is reallly really hard though.

Sleepy 03-15-2006 05:02 PM

The riffs in Sixpounder aren't terribly hard...the solos are, though.

Shadows 03-15-2006 06:16 PM

Mitch! You have a Sixpounder tab?

Swede in L.A 03-15-2006 06:24 PM

I saw Alex laiho @ The Opeth gig last night....:-)

IheartSP 03-15-2006 06:51 PM

That's cool that he showed up for an Opeth gig. I bet a lot of people were bothering him.

I could see Bodom this weekend but my drummer doesn't want to because of the crappy opening bands, the long drive, and the fact that we'd be in the 18 and under section.

Swede in L.A 03-15-2006 06:57 PM

He was harassed as soon as he entered the building.....heheheh

AA-12 03-15-2006 07:14 PM

Haha, it's nice to see Laiho likes a band like Opeth. Makes me like him more.

IheartSP 03-15-2006 07:15 PM

He also likes Lamb of God and Hatebreed. I have little respect for him as a music listener, all the good stuff he used to listen to like Stratovarius and Manowar is dead to him, and I HATE American Metal to a pretty large extent.

AA-12 03-15-2006 07:17 PM

Meh, Opeth and Lamb of God = Two of my favorite bands. Hatebreed isn't that great in my books though, but they are good at what they intend to do.

I'm Charming 03-15-2006 07:22 PM
Meh, Opeth and Lamb of God = Two of my favorite bands. Hatebreed isn't that great in my books though, but they are good at what they intend to do.
Hatebreed is pathetic. The guitars put me to sleep and that annoying little twat for a singer... Jamie Jasta needs to get his arse kicked. He's like a 20 (?) year old body with a 13 year old mind.

Lamb Of God and Opeth = among my favs as well

I've been addicted to As The Palaces Burn for the last few days. Each time I listen to GR, I dislike it more and more. The songs have no direction and seem lost.

I've been in love with Still Life, Damnation and Deliverence though.

and people say Dream Theater stands around playing and is boring live... haha

Try Lacuna Coil . They stand there like sticks... Not to mention what they are playing is beyond basic. The guitarist was playing the riff with one finger... hahahahaha. The bassist never even has to move his fingers/hand.
lawl.
