I just bought a Coheed and cambria cd. It has a big roman numeral 4 on it.

First impression was kinda acoustic, prog rock. Pretty catchy first "Real track" Nice lead part etc. Next handful of songs were ok, some getting repatative with the lead parts that sound near the same in everysong. Than finally came "wake up clean", IMO great song, Very laid back. The album started seeming popish until this song. Some pretty neat guitar pedal usage on later tracks, reminds me of Zeppelin, Allman bros.

Im not done with the album yet, But what do you guys think of this album?

You said you enjoyed it :upset:

Brokensticks 11-25-2005 06:52 PM

Never heard it, but I'll check it out.

Futuro 11-25-2005 06:54 PM
Never heard it, but I'll check it out.
Beware of the lead singer. High pitch vocals, IF you have listened to rush than you will be fine, But some people get caught off gaurd by higher vocals from a guy.

Janeway 11-25-2005 06:55 PM

Phil and Drummer54 got repped, but I can't decide wether to -rep or +rep Loyton.

Drum Phil 11-25-2005 06:55 PM

well i got some time to waste, might as well spend it in here. just heating my supper up, then it's out partying for my friend's birthday.

a store in town got a whole pile of big cigars, i'll have to go in and buy one tonight.

i don't think i'll be on here for the rest of the weekend, so bye bye everyone.

Futuro 11-25-2005 07:00 PM
I thought he was a girl at first
Yeah, lol. They remind me of Rush with the high vocals Songs based off fictional stories, Near same guitar tone etc. Im kinda 50/50 with the album, One hand it has some neat prog parts. Than in the other, It has a few repetative parts (Mainly during the few middle tracks, still good songs. But more work on the compositional part would have helped immensly. I really liked the last few songs on the album, They are all about 7:30 long, Really neat sounding. They go through a few different genres while keeping there Alt sound. The sound is kinda like Mars volta, But with less expirementing, and more music. I think this album may need to grow on me little by little.

and i got the tuning i liked alot faster pics this sunday hopefully

Undisco Kidd 11-25-2005 07:17 PM

I'd love to see Terry Bozzio play on a 4 piece with just a ride and hats.

puppet.master 11-25-2005 07:18 PM

thats would be interesting

i would love to play one of bozzios kits more though

Undisco Kidd 11-25-2005 07:20 PM

Hah. I couldn't handle all of that. I picked up a 12" Wuhan today, and I'm experimenting with ways to work it in (first effect cymbal). 95% of the time, I'm playing a jazz beat. I really doubt I could even find a way to play his hundreds of drums and such.

puppet.master 11-25-2005 07:23 PM

huh
all i read was wuhan

mmmmm wuhan :drools:

Undisco Kidd 11-25-2005 07:26 PM

it's the best 10 dollar china ever.

i will love it and cherish it forever.

also, would it be possible to make some sort of hihats using chinas?

two 14 inch wuhans + hihat stand = wuhats?

Janeway 11-25-2005 07:28 PM

Wuhan always reminds me of chinese food.

Undisco Kidd 11-25-2005 07:29 PM

Tso Chicken = <3

Janeway 11-25-2005 07:30 PM

Mmmmm...
Good taste in chinese food.
Have some rep.

Undisco Kidd 11-25-2005 07:32 PM

I like the way you think.

puppet.master 11-25-2005 07:35 PM
