I just found out that Blackalicious are coming to Australia. I'm a little excited. Are they good live?
I enjoyed 'em. That Gift of Gab, he's a rascal.

Happymeal 10-31-2005 07:28 PM

Noice post count. edit: Ok now it's gone

Started reading The Watchmen last night. Finished 1/5 of the book. Good so far.

Little Man being Erased 10-31-2005 07:28 PM

Yeah, I think it'll be worth it. I've never actually been to a Hip-Hop/Rap gig before. Should be fun.

Robert Crumb 10-31-2005 07:30 PM
Noice post count.
Darn. I ruined it. I better eat all this Halloween candy before kids get here.

RouteOne 10-31-2005 07:33 PM

Is there any indie that is heavy or has a slight hardcore influence to it?

Glitterati 10-31-2005 11:32 PM

I changed my Halloween costume at the last minute and went as a rudeboy  I got lots of candy, then watched The Amityville Horror with my friends. All in all, a good evening.

Fo' Sho'

morrissey 11-01-2005 01:57 PM

Someone is probably going to get mad at me for this but Cursive aren't heavy, but they are heavily influenced by Fugazi and they use distortion, whoa.

So that would be my recommendation.

Lots of indie rock is heavier, don't know so much about hardcore influence though.

Interstate 11-01-2005 02:05 PM
Surely post-hardcore in general would fall under the flag of indie?
I guess so. I lump Fugazi in as indie but it's also known as post-hardcore/hardcore. Meh.

I've heard Cursive described as post-hardcore/indie before, but I suck at genres. Either way, Cursive is brilliant.

morrissey 11-01-2005 03:20 PM

Yeah I love them, and based on your first avatar you do too.

SOP, I've always thought of post-hardcore and indie to be pretty closely related.

Electrocution 11-01-2005 03:21 PM

I was going to say These Arms Are Snakes.

The Great Decay 11-01-2005 03:24 PM
Yeah I love them, and based on your first avatar you do too.
My username is also a Cursive song.

Do they have a website?

EDIT: Just listened to them....no thanks.

I'm looking for bands along the lines of Replicator.

Little Man being Erased 11-01-2005 04:07 PM

I love Cursive too.
Where are they doing their thing? The Arena?
Yeah. Sometimes they have all-ages gigs there. When they do, I think they have the all ages section upstairs and the 18+ dowstairs or something. So you may have a glimmer of hope.

Interstate 11-01-2005 04:43 PM

I'm off to bed now, peace out peeps.

Almost 6k wooo.

Sam 11-01-2005 05:04 PM

Which band do you prefer?

The Good Life or Cursive?

I've had this argument with a friend before, it's really hard. They're both awesome.

Album of the Year is good stuff.

Blood Brothers are good if you want heavy indie.

The Great Decay 11-01-2005 06:08 PM

I haven't listened to The Blood Brothers in a while, I think it's time to bust out Burn Piano Island, Burn.
