I hate Zeppelin too. Robert sounds exactully like Janis. Am I the only one to notice.
Yea, but we could all use more Janis. Wow, that guy's classic rock tastes don't expand far at all. |
Hey man, you stole my insult. He is gay though.
It's with great respect to you that I use the insult :thumb:. *rod stewart is kind of for 40 year old women. he still has some  tunes though. |
Who's?
And I don't think Robert sounds like Janis.
Some guy's post on this page said his classic rock tastes vary a lot, then he goes on to list LZ, Deep Purple, Sabbath, and Skynyrd. |
oic
I watched The Last Waltz today, and I think Up On Cripple Creek and Don't Do It are my favorites. |
My dad just found his old Quicksilver Messanger Service album. Perfect, brilliant jam/psychedelic rock. A new favorite for sure.
|
I have to add Happy Trails to the list to get. It's times like these I wish I was rich.

I have the money, I just cant find the CD's, gonna hafta start ordering them off a website. |
I have like $22 in credit at Best Buy, so maybe I'll luck out and find it there. However I highly doubt that. Especially since all they had Dead-wise was one copy of American Beauty and like 30 copies of the same greatest hits.

Yea it's highly unlikely that Best Buy will have it. Their limited Grateful Dead selection pisses me off. Woodstock, order from Amazon. They always have good prices and it never takes too long to ship. |
Best Buy has some good stuff at times I found Birdland which I consider a rare album.
|
Well there's this used CD store really close to Best Buy so I'll probably go there too. They have a pretty good selection, I was very surpirsed when I saw The Grateful Dead Go To Heaven there.

It was easy for me to find, I'm not sure what it's like anywhere else though. I got it used at F.Y.E., but now that I think about it that was the only time I ever saw it. |
Speaking of Happy Trails can I get "Maiden Of the Cancer Moon" from someone?
|
Speaking of Happy Trails can I get "Maiden Of the Cancer Moon" from someone?
I can't get it to you until a few days from now. I let my friend borrow it, but when he's done I plan to rip it onto my computer. |
My local CD store is probably one of the worst out of anyone here...the main reason I don't have all the CDs I like is because I just can't find them, occasionally I find some good stuff at Coconuts or Strawberries (do yuo guys have those?) but other then that I've got no options :(
When I went CD shopping this summer with my uncle I bought 16 CDs, I love Boston music stores :D |
I don't like Janis Joplin or American Beauty. I like Ziggy Stardust. I like used cd store the best.

Good way to sum up the last few pages. |
If there's more than 3 pages of discussion I missed, I try to do it all in one post.
Have you guys heard of Panama Red? My dad just mentioned them when I brought up Spencer Dryden's death. |

Which QSMS album did you find Woodstock? Well, in Anchor Man (if you guys have seen it) did you notice when he is done his jazz flute solo he yells "Hey Aqualung"? When I saw it first I didn't notice it but last night I did and it was a good laugh. |
Yea that was classic. I liked the part in Ocean's 12 where Matt Damon quotes the first verse of Kashmir. I don't think anyone got it but me.

I haven't seen that mvie but thickasabrick said he was the only person in the theatre o get the joke aswell. |
Anoyone want to reccommend me a Beatles cd? All I have is Sgt Peppers.
|
Abbey Road would have to be my favorite, it's just so good in terms of musicianship.
Also, I've been listening to the mp3s from The Last Waltz that I ripped like constantly. |
Anoyone want to reccommend me a Beatles cd? All I have is Sgt Peppers.
I also recommend Revolver. |
/recommends Revolver. Seriously though, there's so many great ones that people are probably going to say Rubber Soul, Abbey Road, The White Album, and Magical Mystery Tour as well...but personally Revolver is absolutely my favourite album by them.
All of that + a hard days night. |
Abbey Road would have to be my favorite, it's just so good in terms of musicianship.
True, that is an amazing album. Magical Mystery Tour owns also. |
Have I given out an Phil Lesh & Friends recorded samples?
|
Humor, if I get my AIM working can you send me some songs?
And I saw the Aqualung line the second time I watched it too. |

I recommend Abbey Road, but you might as well just get more than one, because basically everyone recommends a different album by them. |
Funny thing...our local Classic Rock radio station always has like special weekends where they choose a band, and play a lot of songs by them. And then some of their albums late at night...
So I was listening to the radio today, and the radio guy is like "We thought we were clever by making it a Styx and Stones weekend (get it?)...but then we took a vote, and everyone agreed that Styx suck...so now it's just a Rolling Stones weekend." I found it funny he would actually say that. Anyone else agree with him though? |

I would most definitely reccommend The White Album. But really, you couldn't go wrong if you tried. |

My favorite Beatles album is Abbey Road. I ordered 3 CD's off cdnow.com: 1. Booker T. & The MG's-The Very Best Of 2. The Kinks-Village Green Preservation Society 3. QSMS-self titled |
1. Booker T. & The MG's-The Very Best Of
Awesome. We're almost at 800. |
Damn, American Beauty is a fantastic album.
|
Tonight is the Tsunami Relief Concert, do not miss it!
I heard Eric Clapton and Roger Waters are performing Wish You Were Here together. And maybe John Mayer will play a good blues song. |
