Silly people.

I need more bands t-shirts. I have a beat-up Godsmack one. And it's Hot Topic.

I'll mail you my Individual Thought Patterns long sleeve if you burn that shirt. :thumb:

The opening irffs in that song are some of the best harmonized guitar parts I've ever heard the band do. They're just so catchy and well written.

TojesDolan 06-09-2006 02:53 AM

Call me crazy but I'm very infatuated with The apostle in triumph. It's my favorite track of Orchid.
I'll mail you my Individual Thought Patterns long sleeve if you burn that shirt :thumb:.
haha, sure thing. I don't like long sleeves, though. I can accept some e-petting though. :p

PeEpHoLe_10 06-09-2006 03:32 AM
The next song I want to learn is Closure. I've attempted many times, but that crazy third riff always halts my progress. I can never get it to sound as clean as Akerfeldt does...
Haha same here man.
I have a Blackwater Park tshirt. One of my favorite shirts actually. Just the album cover on the front, with tour dates on the back.
I have that one too. Mine is uber-small and tight.

Thor 06-09-2006 01:24 PM

I have this shirt. My friend gave it to me as an Xmas present, and I think it's one of the cooler shirts Opeth has.

If I burn a Green Day and Blink 182 shirt, could I get it :p.

I've come a long way musically over the past 5 years or so.

The Slipknot DVD is still fun to watch, IMO. Joey's drum solo is always going to be awesome, no matter what kind of music you like.

Crysiss 06-09-2006 02:15 PM

not Disasterpieces:p

Carrionshine 06-09-2006 02:41 PM

That Welcome to Our Neigborhood DVD?That one sucks.

Crysiss 06-09-2006 02:44 PM

I know, Its awful.

Its basically an interview with cheap music videos included.

Shattered_Future 06-09-2006 02:54 PM

I still have a Korn music video DVD kicking around someplace...now THAT'S crap in a disc.

I <3 my Still Life shirt. Kicks aaassss.

Crysiss 06-09-2006 02:57 PM

So has anyone seen or found the special edition of Ghost Reveries?

Let me search the note and post it in here. I'll edit.
Roadrunner will issue a special edition deluxe version of "Ghost reveries" on the 25 th of July.

Bonus material include a 40 minute documentary about the making of the record complete with the bands own private tour footage, a cover of Deep Purple's "Soldier of fortune" recorded for UK's BBC radio, the video for "The grand conjuration", liner notes, photos, enhanced 24 page booklet, deluxe sleeve, and 5.1 surround exclusive mix of the record made by original mixed/engineer Jens Bogren.

The rumoured collaboration between Mikael Åkerfeldt, Steven Wilson (Porcupine tree) and Mike Portnoy (Dream theater) will probably become reality in a near future. The project will maintain a low key and interviews will be sparse. This will be a sheer musical communion that its members wish to keep clear of the "supergroup" hype.

Opeth's "Ghost reveries" has been nominated in the "Album of the year 2005" category for UK's Metal Hammer magazine annual awards. The award is handed out on the 12 th of June at London Camden's "Koko".

In related news, Per Wiberg's heavy rock sensation Spiritual beggars have recently released a London taped live DVD entitled "Live fire". Recommended!
Eh lol didn't read the 25th of July before, silly me. That should be a good thing to get. Opeth's documentaries are always interesting.

Crysiss 06-09-2006 03:23 PM

Indeed.

I like how they want to avoid the term 'supergroup'

TojesDolan 06-09-2006 03:25 PM

Well, supergroups usually get too much hype compared to a normal band collaboration.

Crysiss 06-09-2006 03:26 PM

I know.

But Opeth DT and Porcupine Tree members are a great reason to hype.

Thor 06-09-2006 04:00 PM
Well, supergroups usually get too much hype compared to a normal band collaboration.
cough Velvet Revolver cough
cough Audioslave cough

TojesDolan 06-09-2006 04:19 PM

Exactly.

Even Cream had it's hype.

Back in the days, at least. It's just famous names altogether make people feel like their vag¡nas go all the way up to their ears and they'll get an eargasm when a lot of famous people play together.

Eh I'm not excited about Portnoy though... he's good but he lacks SOUL. But DT is a big name so what can you do about it. :p

I donno if you had to get that descriptive, but yeah, something like that.

Shattered_Future 06-09-2006 04:43 PM

I liked that analogy, man. It was very though out and heartfelt.

I often find so called "supergroups" aren't all that "super"...

Darkness 06-09-2006 04:47 PM

I like Audioslave. That's it.
