Nah, unless my band ends up playing it. I'm not really a fan of any of those bands. They all seem really generic to me. They're cool guys though. LA has way too many poseurs though.

Bazarov 07-16-2006 04:58 PM

Not too many bands can be original these days though.. but I catch what you're saying. One band though.. Merciless Death, that guys vocals I cannot stand, it makes me think of a Mustaine constipated.

Oh yeah, that guy has some really horrible pipes. He sounds like someone trying to do a Schmier impression while really really really drunk

Terrorzone 07-16-2006 07:51 PM

Yeah, I heard them a while ago. They have some good riffs but their vocalist kills them.

Np: Ritual Carnage-The Sixth Sense

FatalEnergy 07-16-2006 08:59 PM

My band is going play one live cover and we took forever deciding, but finally we have come to the conclusion.

Venom's Don't Burn the Witch!

Hopefully when we start getting gigs I'll save a live recording of it.

NP: Venom - Black Metal
I haven't listened to Dark Angel in quite a bit, so great.
I do that all the time.

I don't listen to Dark Angel for long streches of time, then binge listen for a couple of days. repeat.

Ditto. What ever became of them? They were starting something up and then everything fell apart.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-17-2006 01:02 AM

I think a couple of years back there was going to be a reunion album to be called Darkness Returns. It won't be happening though.

Nostalgia 07-17-2006 01:14 AM

Man, Sauron are pretty rad. The production is terrible, but I actually like it. The drums sounds so raw.

FatalEnergy 07-17-2006 01:17 AM

They're okay. They never struck me as anything too special. They did a cool cover of Total Death though.

Nostalgia 07-17-2006 01:20 AM

Yeah, I still like Kreator's a lot more though.

FatalEnergy 07-17-2006 01:27 AM

Most definately

Apocalyptic Raids 07-17-2006 02:54 AM

Sauron is cool. New EP should be coming soon.

AA-12 07-17-2006 03:08 AM

Sauron has an awesome name.

FatalEnergy 07-18-2006 07:05 AM

Man, I relistened to the new Sodom again. It hasn't grown on me. Everyone seems to like it so much, but I'll pass. M-16 was much much better.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-18-2006 07:07 AM

I heard the leak, it seemed ok but I deleted it anyway.

np: Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath"

AA-12 07-18-2006 07:07 AM

I actually love it for some reason.

FatalEnergy 07-18-2006 07:08 AM

It's much too melodic and slow for me. It just kind of seems to drag out. There's a few good ones, like Lords of Depravity, but the songs like City of God I could do without.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-18-2006 07:08 AM

Lords of Depravity seemed like a decent song, but the others didn't keep my attention as much.

Destruction are definitely the best of the old-school bands that re-united.

The Negation 07-18-2006 07:15 AM

I scored a copy of Annihilator's - Schizo Deluxe today, pretty good.

AA-12 07-18-2006 07:19 AM

I still have some super rare Annihilator demo I need to listen to. I've had it for like 2 weeks, haha.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-18-2006 07:33 AM

I've only heard Alice In Hell by them.

The Negation 07-18-2006 07:38 AM

Theyre pretty darn good....and Canadian!
I still have some super rare Annihilator demo I need to listen to. I've had it for like 2 weeks, haha.
Pray tell what demo might that be?!

Apocalyptic Raids 07-18-2006 07:40 AM

I like Razor and Dissection better as far as Canadian Thrash goes :p

The Negation 07-18-2006 07:42 AM

I'll give you Dissection but Annihilator > Razor.
Im really into Japanese thrash at the mo...amazing stuff.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-18-2006 07:44 AM
I'll give you Dissection but Annihilator > Razor.
no waaaay :p
Im really into Japanese thrash at the mo...amazing stuff.
hmm, the only Japanese Thrash I've heard is Ritual Carnage. I've got some Volcano too, but they're not quite thrash.

FatalEnergy 07-18-2006 07:47 AM

I have Annhilators first two, and they are the only two I actually like by them. Sacrifice = Best Canadian Thrash, and I've always had a soft spot for Soothsayer.

Japanese thrash, dude check out this band called Fastkill. Brutal and unbelievably fast. Japanese Sabbat is pretty damn good. They started off as NWOBHM sounding stuff and then turned to Black/Thrash.

NP: Cannibal Corpse - Zero the Hero (Black Sabbath Cover)

Apocalyptic Raids 07-18-2006 07:48 AM

Oh, I've heard Abigail too. Though they're Black/Thrash.

The Negation 07-18-2006 07:48 AM

Psssh yes way!

I love Volcano! Violent is amazing. Kings-Evil > Ritual Carnage. Dudman are awesome! Jellyroll Rockheads too. Japan has some absolutely cracking bands out there.
