Paul Dianno came to my town, at a really really small club, along with Hi-On Maiden (tribute band), and I couldn't go! You had to be 18, argh. My sister went though, and met him. :(

I might get that bootlegged album. After all I love Dream Theater and I love Iron Maiden. Should be good.

ashman 12-15-2005 06:32 PM

DT + Maiden = Blasphemy

Thunder Fingers 12-16-2005 07:21 AM

The James Labrie is a Master of KILLING SONGS!!!

Man, he have a horrible live voice, and even when hes in studio, he sound like a extremely high pitched chainsaw when he goes high...

If you dont believe me, listen to their Cover of "Master of Puppets".... oh bloody hell thats horrible...

Lord Abortion 12-16-2005 07:24 AM

/\/\ lies.

The Gangland cover is a great idea, see the idea to us and Maiden as Englishmen, is the idea of the Krays, Ronnie Biggs and 1960's London.
Americans have no experience of that, so DT, being American, translated that idea to the music that they associate with Organised cime, the sort of stuff from the 1920's... great idea.

yes it is.... my entire school have been laughing of that video.... (my G/F is a huge fan of D.T, but she can face the fact that LaBrie doesnt always sound good... )

Quickdrop 12-16-2005 10:23 AM

I love DT's covers of Maiden stuff. But even i will admit there MoP cover was only mediocre.

the Maiden covers were mediocre, apart from Gangland, that was hilarious

Lord Abortion 12-16-2005 10:25 AM

I love LaBrie's voice, haven't heard the MOP cover though, he would have to be trying really hard to sound bad if he sounds worse than Hetfield.

Quickdrop 12-16-2005 10:29 AM
I love LaBrie's voice, haven't heard the MOP cover though, he would have to be trying really hard to sound bad if he sounds worse than Hetfield.
True, the only album james sounded good on was black album. So it shouldnt be hard sound better than him doing a cover of MoP.

However, it isnt just the vocals that make their cover of it only mediocre. Even instrumentally it wasnt exactly earth-shattering.

Lord Abortion 12-16-2005 10:31 AM

I really hate the Black album except "of wolf and man"
Metallica died halfway through AJFA for me...
