Pfft, while I love Opeth's acoustic album, nothing is better than my ethnotrance mix CD
What is ethnotrance?

Tyler 02-06-2006 10:35 PM
Man i just watched the goonys... what an amazing movie. I love that weird monster guy :)
What is ethnotrance?
Gregorian Chant/Middle Eastern/Indian choirs/vocals + sensual female lyrical vocals + spacious orchestral arrangements + hybridized electronic/acoustic fusion rhythms = http://media.putfile.com/04-silence64

Illmatic 02-06-2006 10:37 PM

Sounds like a goddamn mess to me.

Here's another great example of ethnotrance:
I'm not sure what you mean exactly.
It doesn't seem like they write the songs for the benefit of the song as much as benefit of the riffs.
It doesn't seem like they write the songs for the benefit of the song as much as benefit of the riffs.
Well, they do write around the riffs as that's the way they start their structure. The songs on the album do at first come off as that way, but you have the atrocious production to thank for that. It makes the piano sound robotic and the bass lines are totally inaudible. Whatever. I respect your ability to properly criticise, not like that guy who first rated my review as a positive and then changed his idea when I decided to ask what his problem with the album was.

I can enjoy it but obviously in retrospect:thumb: .

It's a great album but in the future I wouldn't really enjoy another release from them like this.

As for the production, I don't really mind it at all. I thought the piano sounded okay but I do agree about the bass lines which is a shame because the bass player is awesome.

He is, that's what bothers me. The production is everywhere, not to mention an ENTIRE piano part was lost in the making of the cd. The first song opened with a piano, but you can only hear the final note played when you play it. The main issue with Kezia is they wrote an album ahead of their capabilities. It led to a long delay in the finishing of the album and it wasnt techincally ever finished. They're working on a follow up though, but it'll supposedly be less lyrically cryptic, but much more technical.

I hate adding/updating all the software though :-/

That's just retarded, couldn't they just record it again?

I'm planning on buying a laptop before I go to university next year. I figure I'll need it to stay organized.

Jev 02-07-2006 01:47 AM

I'd like to get a laptop but unfortunately, there's too many things I want right now.

Bartender 02-07-2006 04:16 AM

That Florgan guy doesn't seem to know what contrived means. Or what a logical fallacy is.

EDIT: Or a concept album.

kurrpt 02-07-2006 07:55 AM

I finally ripped a p0rn DVD onto my IPOD video player, for demonstration purposes.

I've never been an avid p0rn watcher, but the convenience is unmatched

Well, it's still in the masters somewhere. Hopefully it makes it into the US release.

Sounds like denial to me.

PinkFreud 02-07-2006 12:26 PM

seriously. psh. i can admit that i was/am still an avid p0rn watcher. even when i had a girlfriend.

like you said...the convenience is unmatched.

plus i watch for the plot most of the time.

kurrpt 02-07-2006 12:27 PM
Sounds like denial to me.
well, think about it. How long do you REALLY need to watch p0rn for?

5 minutes maybe

I rarely watch TV, movies, or anything to that effect. Im either playing my guitar, smoking reefer, or on a rare occurence, playing PSP

edit: this DVD rip was girl on girl action. Its nice and all, but the got some semi-FUGGs in the mix.

I swear some of them pretend they can't act on purpose.

i am the robots 02-07-2006 12:29 PM

Try over 20 minutes... I keep my music on whenever I'm doing anything, last night I started BEFORE Black Rose Immortal started and finished AFTER IT WAS OVER :smoke:.

PinkFreud 02-07-2006 12:30 PM

the hilariously contrived plots are just the kicker for me.

you mean i get to see naked girls AND laugh my *** off because the women's locker room is being cleaned so now they have to shower in the men's!? count me in.

kurrpt 02-07-2006 12:30 PM

what?

ive never been to a strip club, and the other p0rn movie i ever bought was a VHS from Chinatown NYC on a school field trip, that broke

Congratulations. I started before You Suffer and ended briefly afterwards.

Anyway I took today off school 'cause I'm feeling poorly. I have to keep on blowing my nose all the time, really annoying. And I'm off my food aswell, all I've had today is a smoothie.
