Probably better that way. The CD is perfect, because then if you must skip something you can, and playing the CD generally doesn't mess up the segues between tracks.

Send them a letter telling them of your joy.

Dog 07-29-2005 12:52 AM

When I was six I loved Dr. Pepper so much I wrote a letter to their corporate headquarters, and they sent me back a Dr. Pepper t-shirt and bandana, and now I have diabetes. Good story.

Zappa 07-29-2005 12:57 AM

The story should end with "and now I have diabetes."

Luxor 07-29-2005 12:59 AM

Took me a minute to get that, Zappa. But when I did, I laughed. Just thought I'd let you know.

Geez read the post before you criticize it.

Ja.

I'm so pumped up for page 600.
I'm so pumped up for page 600.
That's a sign of a pathetic existance.

:)

Kayetan 07-29-2005 01:31 AM

And there you go.

I don't understand this at all. I'm at 20 posts per page, so who cares?

br3ad_man 07-29-2005 02:02 AM

Bear vs. Shark may well be the coolest band name ever.

JonM 07-29-2005 08:51 AM

Well, I just listened to this so-called "viking metal," and I was really, really surprised.

First of all, that's exactly what it is. I can't possibly describe it any better than that. It's like medieval folk music and war dirges with distorted guitars. And more surprisingly, it's actually very interesting and not at all bad. I didn't listen to much of it (didn't want to ruin it for myself), but I had a stand-offishly favorable opinion of the six songs I listened to. The lyrics were pretty funny, but on the whole I sort of enjoyed it. I'd never listen to it again, but I'm glad I tried it once.

Electrocution 07-29-2005 08:56 AM

I just finished a Bill Bryson book. It was funny, but there's something about him that really bugs me.
I just ripped the new Shpongle album into wav files on my harddrive, then dumped all the files into CoolEdit, then mixed them down to one single 67 minute track, then took dBPoweramp and converted the new file down to mp3. Now I can play the album on my iPod and it won't have gaps that I find very obnoxious, since the album is really meant to flow from one track to the next entirely uninterrupted.
Can't you just select to record the whole disc as one track in iTunes?

A Goonie 07-29-2005 09:51 AM

I found it fascinating how, since i started working at my new job, i have time to read about murderers, people can be really crazy. But i find it interesting.

Oh and hello all
Can't you just select to record the whole disc as one track in iTunes?
If you can, I took the scenic route.

Iai 07-29-2005 10:54 AM

Do iPods usually play full CDs with gaps between tracks then? My mp3 player just moves from one to the other smoothly, so I never needed to do anything like that.

el doctor 07-29-2005 11:05 AM

Yes, although the gaps are only a split second. It's nowhere near as bad as a 2 second delay, but when you're listening to songs that flow together it can get annoying.

That he's an idiot maybe?

He's pretty hilarious. I've read one of his books about America. So funny.

Glitterati 07-29-2005 11:25 PM

This thread has been dead today. What, people actually do stuff on Friday nights?

Zappa 07-29-2005 11:33 PM

I don't. At least not every Friday night.
