I freaking love Brighter than a thousand suns and i like that Maiden didn't really change their style on this album.

Quiksilver26 09-06-2006 02:52 PM

For The Greater Good of God and The Longest Day are my 2 new favourite songs. Can't fuckin wait to see them play them :D

JamJar 09-06-2006 02:58 PM

In a way, I hope that they do play the entire album in their set because all fo the songs are so good. But in another way, I want a set with only 4-5 from the new album because it's my first time seeing them and I want to see all of the classics.

pate 09-06-2006 03:01 PM

My favorites are BTATS, FTGGOG, and The Longest Day.

Luc2142 09-06-2006 03:20 PM

I haven't listened to a whole lot of the new Maiden yet, but I liked Different World alot.

victim of changes 09-06-2006 04:16 PM

Bought it yesterday, this album is amazing it leaves me speechless at the moment so ill leave at that.

Joe 09-06-2006 04:36 PM

Just bought it. I really like Different World, and now I'm on to These Colours Don't Run. I've heard tons of great reviews about this album. I really liked Reincarnation.

Surtr 09-06-2006 04:39 PM

Still lovin' this album. I usually play it while I'm playin' COD2.

Add the Legacy in there and that's my list.

After listening to it twice I was singing along to all the choruses. It's so good.

Lord Abortion 09-06-2006 08:07 PM

I haven't listened to it for a day.

Weird...Slayer's live album kind of broke my mind.

Deth 09-06-2006 08:09 PM

It didn't even register that it was you Ollie with the Slayer icon.

Lord Abortion 09-06-2006 08:10 PM

Yeah, I have a slight Slayer addiction right now.

Cobra 09-06-2006 10:20 PM

Dayum this album kicks ***. Great Job Iron Maiden.

The Pilgrim is really growing on me now. Time to listen to it again........

pate 09-06-2006 11:26 PM

The Pilgrim and the Legacy were the only ones I didn't love right away, but they grew on me quite a bit.

Rainmaker 09-07-2006 02:02 AM

i love the whole album, went up to wales last week, twice in fact, and listened to it solidly the whole way there and back, and i didnt get tired of it. amazing album.

-The Frank 09-07-2006 05:35 AM

-the frank still has 10 days before he gets to listen to the album...

Apocalyptic Raids 09-07-2006 05:37 AM

Give in and download a couple of tracks to whet your appetite :p

-The Frank 09-07-2006 05:41 AM

AOL.com is streaming the whole album......
I've waited this long, i guess i could wait a few more days......

crag 09-07-2006 11:01 AM
The Pilgrim and the Legacy were the only ones I didn't love right away, but they grew on me quite a bit.
This was the same with me, i love both songs now :)

on another little note i have a favour to ask of you bassists :)
I would like to know of some Maiden songs that are of a medium to easy sort of difficulty for example like DWYBO, Burning Ambition and Heaven Can Wait. I'm doing bass in my music classes now and need some songs to learn:)

132WalrusesInMexico 09-07-2006 03:18 PM

Oh my goodness, everything I've heard about the new album = true. It's amazing.

Luc2142 09-07-2006 04:04 PM

I have Iron Maiden, The Number Of The Beast, and A Matter of Life And Death.

AMOLAD is their best imo.

Any other album reccomendations?

I've heard Powerslave was good.

chorbalan 09-07-2006 04:04 PM

Powerslave is considered one of their best ^^
Finally got a copy yesterday, and it is amazingly good. The only bad part is I haven't heard all the songs yet. Everytime I try to sit down and listen to music something comes up, so I am hoping no one comes wanting something from me right now because i will cut them. The Pilgrim is a little boring at start but it becomes pretty catchy and picks up speed. I love every single song I've heard so far with no exceptions.

pate 09-07-2006 04:06 PM

Powerslave is highly overrated. Luc, you need to get Seventh Son.

TojesDolan 09-07-2006 04:11 PM

Get Killers And Piece of Mind.

That should help, variety-wise.

And maybe Iron Maiden for culture references.

hellrider 09-07-2006 04:12 PM

i agree with you pate i thought powerslave was overatted any who

now that ive listend to amolad its starting to grow on me even thought the length its a little annoying

TojesDolan 09-07-2006 04:14 PM

The thing about Powerslave is that it's a very, very balanced album.

pate 09-07-2006 04:17 PM

Balanced as in half great, half crappy?

Luc2142 09-07-2006 04:57 PM
Get Killers And Piece of Mind.

I already have Iron Maiden.

I didn't care to much for Piece of Mind though. Except for The Trooper, I LOVE that song.

132WalrusesInMexico 09-07-2006 05:09 PM

The Trooper is an awesome song, but my favorite song from Piece Of Mind is Where Eagles Dare. That is such an amazing song.

Lord Abortion 09-07-2006 05:10 PM

Still life>>>all.

Luc2142 09-07-2006 05:43 PM
Still life>>>all.
True, but we're talking about Iron Maiden not Opeth.

wrathchild88 09-07-2006 05:51 PM
True, but we're talking about Iron Maiden not Opeth.
What?

It's a track on Piece of Mind. And a great one as well.

Luc2142 09-07-2006 05:52 PM
What?

Ohhhh. My bad.

Hot Darn! 09-07-2006 05:58 PM

Peice of Mind is probably my least listened to album.
I think Somewhere in Time is really underrated. I love that album.

I haven't gotten the new album yet, can't wait to get it though.

Quiksilver26 09-07-2006 06:42 PM

Die With Your Boots on. all you need from Piece of Mind :p I just love that song a lot.

Anyway my actual copy of AMOLAD should be arriving tomorrow, so i'm excited for that :D

Surtr 09-07-2006 07:34 PM

Piece of Mind is an insane album. And your right, Somewhere In Time is awesome too. Those are two of my favorite albums probably.

Luc2142 09-07-2006 07:39 PM

Am I the only one who doesn't care for Piece of Mind that much?

Surtr 09-07-2006 07:46 PM
Am I the only one who doesn't care for Piece of Mind that much?
Yes. :p

Lord Abortion 09-07-2006 07:46 PM

Yes, I believe so, it's my favourite Maiden album.

Luc2142 09-07-2006 07:50 PM

Of course, as with alot of music I got when I first got into metal, I wasn't that into Maiden. Now, I love them, so I think I'll check it out again.

The exact same thing happened with Cannibal Corpse, Emperor, Amon Amarth, and some others.

I didn't like them when I was a metal virgin, now that I'm seasoned I love those bands. Well, I don't love CC, but I don't hate them like I used to and I enjoy them.
