Dried Muffin Remnants 09-18-2005 01:37 PM

Aenema is about the negatives of LA and a lot of things. Thus, the "enema" or cleansing of those things. Aenima is the album. Thus "anima" meaning soul...a good title for an album. It's a pun.

But yeah...can someone send me Push!t live?

Give me your AIM

Edit: Oddly enough, I just realized I'm listening to the song right now... and it's giving me a headache :/

Dude3 09-18-2005 06:09 PM

I think otherside gave me the thing, but I don't really remember.

What's the code thing so that you can put a video in your MYspace? I forgot. Its like the code for the media player, and then ou insert a URL in it, and WAllAA!

Its somewhere in this thread. Somewhere in these 795 pages...............

Anybody?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. :p

Oh shi, oh shi......DILEMA!!

I soooo have the code to put the Parabola vid in my Myspace, but I put in a new vid today(Suicide Machines). I think I'll replace it with the Tool vid :D ......MAybe

Killtacular 09-18-2005 06:43 PM

Videos in myspace pages suck. They lag everything up real good.

Dude3 09-18-2005 06:50 PM

Meh, I'll leave the other vid on now. I'm addicted to that song at the moment. Tool will have to wait.

I just though I'd bring this up:
I live in Brandon, Florida(near Tampa), and we have some weird weather warning out right now. Its "...AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EDT SUNDAY... AN AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY MEANS THAT CONDITIONS EXIST TO TRAP POLLUTION NEAR THE GROUND. THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COMMISSION OF HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY HAS MEASURED AN INCREASE IN PARTICULATE LEVELS. RESIDENTS WITH HEART OR LUNG DISEASE... OLDER ADULTS AND CHILDREN SHOULD REDUCE PROLONGED OR HEAVY EXERTION TODAY. "

I just went outside, and its a lot harder to breathe. Almost as if it were intensely humid outside. And it smells! Also, my throat feels a little tightened, and my eyes were getting a little irritated. The world is coming to an end!

.....I wonder if I might get school off tomorrow?

denboy 09-18-2005 07:10 PM

The world isn't coming to an end, your city seems to be though

Dude3 09-18-2005 07:32 PM

Its ok with me, as long as we get school off tomorrow.

.......I SOoooooooooo need to get a Danzig album.

Futuro 09-18-2005 07:34 PM

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-18-2005 08:31 PM

We get those every once in a while. A better name for them is an inversion. You just can't burn anything, or the hydrocarbons get caught in the inversion, and may or may not cause death...:p

ThePatient 09-18-2005 08:34 PM

The Prison Sex video is on my MySpace.

And it sounds like Dude3 and tons of old people are going to die.

Dude3 09-18-2005 08:38 PM

I change the vids on my Myspace like daily. I suck at making up my mind. Actually, I just changed it, for the second time today.

I think I'm going to go to bed. Goodnight you Skankaroos!

Darkness 09-18-2005 08:40 PM

Dude3 that sounds weird... sounds like bad allergies and asthma... which I have. :(

I love that video.

Just read the FAQ about them, it will svae your time. The thing about tool songs is, everyones usually wrong about thier interpretations of the songs. They are really smart dudes and you would probably have to study a lot of different occult type books to truely understand everything they are talking about. I try to find out what the song is about form the band, cuz its their song and I want to know what they are actually righting about. Most of the songs aren't even that hard at all to figure out, u really just have to know what they are about and a lot of their history. their new cd is going to rule. Also, i am getting the eyeflame tattoo'ed on my inner arm. Tool rules!

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-18-2005 09:18 PM

What do you think Lateralus is about?

Also, Maynard has said that he never tells anyone what the songs are about because he wants his fans to form their own interpretations, therefore, there is really no known right or wrong answer. :)

HighOnFire666 09-18-2005 09:19 PM

can someone post the parabola code, ill put it on my mysapce! i

I think the whole thing with the Fibonacci sequence goes a bit further. "Lateralus" seems to follow the Golden Ratio also. I took the bar that the first chorus starts on, and multiplied it by 1.61803399 (Phi) and I got the bar number that starts the part after the second chorus. I seriously doubt that that was unintentional. Also, it has been noted that a lot of music features the climax of a song at 61.8% (Golden Section) into it, especially a lot of classical music. 61.8% into Lateralus (the album) is in "Lateralus" (the song), during the soft breakdown part, at the point where Maynard starts singing about "bathing in the fountains", etc. Just something I noticed today. Anyone else ever read about Phi, the Golden Ratio, Fibonacci sequence, and other stuff like that? I find it absolutely fascinating how so much in this life follows the ratio and is related to the same types of patterns. It's so strange to think about it.

No way man. Bit far? :p

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-18-2005 09:44 PM

Sacred geometry rocks my socks.

I didn't know anything about the Golden Ratio being in the song, other than how the Fibonacci sequence forms the Golden Ratio when graphed, etc..

YouGottaBeCrazy 09-18-2005 09:49 PM

Yeah, I never heard anyone else talk about it, I just decided to look into it anyway, just to check if there was anything there.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-18-2005 09:51 PM

Man, think how hard it was to manipulate the song, and the entire album for it to come out like that. :-/ I'm guessing they've got something even bigger and better for us on this next album.

YouGottaBeCrazy 09-18-2005 10:07 PM

lol, haha, it's all just my guess. I can't wait to hear the new album and see what they come up with.

Where can I learn about that stuff? My drum teacher and I take most of our playing from DC and he's got the designs on his pads and the whole bit and I'd like to see what this is all about.

YouGottaBeCrazy 09-19-2005 12:40 PM

just google or wiki it.

BlindWriting 09-19-2005 03:54 PM

I've been posting here less and less. Schoolwork, etc. I need that new album, dammit.

YouGottaBeCrazy 09-19-2005 04:27 PM

lol, I know what you mean, man. I know what you mean.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-19-2005 05:08 PM

Think its fair to say my post rate here has decreased too.

Im having a guitar day tommorrow though, so time to run through the Tool classics.

Kage 09-19-2005 05:10 PM

Guitar day?

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-19-2005 05:11 PM

Hey, idea! What Tool songs can you play on your chosen insturment?

Guitar:
Part of Me
Sweat
Hush

Sober

Stinkfist
46&2
Push it

The Grudge
Eon Blue Apocolypselol
Ticks & Leeches
Lateralus

I know lots of other bits and peices(including most of The Patient, Parabol/a, and Schism), but those are the songs that I could more or less play live.

Darkness 09-19-2005 05:12 PM

I know bits and peices of almost every Tool song... the only full songs I've learned are The Patient, Lateralus and Ticks & Leeches.

YouGottaBeCrazy 09-19-2005 05:26 PM

I usually just know bits and pieces of songs. I think I know atleast one guitar riff to most of the stuff on Aenema and Lateralus. I have trouble remembering some of the solos and the timing to them, such as in Lateralus. I can play through Lateralus, but the solos may not be note for note, but pretty **** close. I can play through The Patient and Parabol/Parabola also. Ticks and Leeches, I just don't like playing the bridge so I'll never really know if I can play through it all. The Grudge's timing at times, throws me off. I don't know all the parts to Schism yet. Disposition/Reflection/Triad, I never learned.

Moses 09-19-2005 05:48 PM

I've been posting less too but that's mostly because I've been with my girlfriend.

MX was my girlfriend when she was gone for the summer.

Futuro 09-19-2005 05:49 PM

with drumming you can half ass a drum part and get it close enough, but as far as being able to play good, probably everything from undertow, and the easier compositioned parts of Aenima and lateralus.

Darkness 09-19-2005 05:49 PM

You ditched us for her... :(

You used us man.

Moses 09-19-2005 05:51 PM

I'm sorry guys, I promise to dedicate more time to you all.
