I'll be the tent playing Sabbath stuff full whack all the time.

Brew 02-09-2005 03:33 PM

^You mean this year right? ;)

I made my mx sign for last years meet-up but it ended up living in my jacket pocket for ages because the time when we were supposed to be meeting I was putting up my tent.

Jas, are you not going reading though?

duffroxmysox 02-09-2005 03:46 PM

So disappointed with that appaling excuse of a footie match

and to clear up the shirt thing:

England had "no to racism" on the front under their number and the patch on a sleeve

Holland had the whole white and black shirt thing

I was watching the Fuse channel (like MTV for rock/alternative/not-MTV), and they showed two songs from a live Muse show in LA. They showed "Butterflies and Hurricanes" and their closer, "Stockholm Syndrome". During "Butterflies", Matt hands off his guitar and plays the piano. I have to honestly say, that was some of the most awesome piano playing I have ever seen. He was about comparable to my piano teacher, who plays Chopin and Brahms and Rachmaninoff from memory. Matt was playing rapid classical style, flitting quickly from high to low, crossing hands back and forth, all with impeccable precision and speed. After he finished "Stockholm", he jumped unto the drumkit and started playing rather crazy, knocking back the drummer's microphone, then finished by dive-bombing the drumkit.

It was crazy and awesome, and I loved it. Matt Belamy is my new hero.

/aimed mostly towards Butler

Adam Jones is GOD 02-10-2005 07:20 AM

/Appreciates muse too

You should try and dig up the tapes of matt back in school doing a piano piece in assembly. he had more talent back then it seems, as there are some insane pieces there.

And he always does something mad and nutty, Rock Am Ring last year was cool, he shredded powerchords going up a fret after about a minute, at the end f the first song, while talking to the rest of the band (ok, doesnt sound too impressive i guess, but it just looked so cool how casual he was while creating this giant wall of noise)

Untitled 02-10-2005 07:35 AM

Hes self taught on piano and guitar apparently, also ive heard that the interlude of H&B is a classical piece, but whatever, its impressive.

If you have kazaa or sumet try and download the live versions of some songs from the last album, from the sydney big day out.

Tis just a pity you can't fit a band, a P.A., a drumkit and other items on your superbike eh? :p
Probs what we'll do is I'll pay for the van, and the rest of the band will pay for the insurance for it to be driven by either me or the guitarist.
