Edit: magicbus has the best avatar... ever!!
I want a poster of that picture to put it up in my room.
I remember seeing it first on a website you linked. And I saw Homer singing that before I heard the real song, so you could imagine how suprised I was to hear Morrison singing it too. |
Homer gets a perfect 300 bowling game.
<---------Thank him for Taxman
Oh yeah I've seen that. Indeed, cheers to George. :chug: |
And to Revolver, which is the album which Taxman appears on.
|
And to Revolver, which is the album which Taxman appears on.

 Nice :thumb:
Today I may finally go buy a copy of Revolver. Thickasabrick, I want a small review on Grateful Dawg. I've never got to see it. :)
im sorry to say Badmoon, but i never rented it. :upset: i was with my dad and he told me he didnt wanna see a documentary about two guys he'd never heard of...so we rented Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle instead. Why don't you rent it? I probably will soon enough anyway, so I will update you if I see it. edit - and yes...i do rent/watch movies with my parents in case any one here is "too cool" to be seen in their public with their parents. |
My video store does not carry it.
K well I will rent it this weekend and tell you about it. Maybe on Sunday. I had never even heard of the movie before, and i was walking by minding my own business, suddenly out of the corner of my eye Jerry Garcias moppish hair caught my eye. Was there any period of time when he was like clean cut? |
I've seen him with no beard but it doesn't fit him, he needs it.
ya that would be very weird. I had hair down to my shoulders, and a beard a couple inches long, and i shaved and cut my hair several inches about a week ago...and i barely even recognize myself now. I definitely wouldn't recognize him. |
Slowhand's name is under Led Zep II twice....hmm....
But anyway I love Working Man's Dead more every time I listen to it in fact I'm gonna listen to it now. |
Off topicness in my thread?
:p. I just got Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells a Story. Very :thumb: |
Rod Stewart annoys me at least he does now, I've never heard any of his pre-pop or whatever stuff.
|
I just got Concert for Bangladesh by George Harrison (Bob Dylan and others too). I love it. :)
|
I haven't gotten new CDs for awhile, hopefully I'll go get some this weekend.
|
The beard mainly came around at about 1968.

News:
It's a sad week for rock 'n' roll. The Associated Press reports that Spencer Dryden, drummer for the Jefferson Airplane in the rock band's glory years, which included the breakthrough 1967 album "Surrealistic Pillow" and the Woodstock festival, has died at age 66. And James Arthur "Jimmy" Griffin, a founding member of the 1970s pop group Bread, has died at age 61. Both deaths were caused by cancer. |
Awww, that's sad :(. He was a great drummer, and really added his own style to Airplane's.
He was also part of the New Riders of the Purple Sage :( |
Aww man :(
http://www.herbgreenefoto.com/gallery/gd-60s-jerry-05.shtml That background is the same as some of the pictures in Surrealistic Pillow. Where is it? EDIT: Real funny you stupid link  |
Most likely in San Francisco or Palo Alto.
|
I want an exact location, you're supposed to know these things Badmoon.
|
****, Phil Lesh is really goofy lookin'...
Anyways today I picked up Cream - Disraeli Gears used for $8 and Buffalo Springfield - Retrospective Greatest Hits $6 both are pretty good, I wasn't into either bands at all before getting those Cds. I think I like Stephen Stills more than Neil Young. At the same store they had the Layla Sessions package for $28.99 (used) I was tempted to get it...I heard from my uncle that the jams are amazing. |
I think I like Stephen Stills more than Neil Young.
Me too, except I'm sure of it. |
lol Yeah I think I'm pretty sure of myself too. I wanna get some solo stuff by him I saw a lot while perusing through the "S" section, I bought a Sublime CD instead though.

I just found out that mom went to see CSNY in concert but she doesn't remember it to well.
|
She was undoubtedly high.
My mom went to a CSN a couple years ago year, but she's 44 so I don't think she was high. |

My friends dad smokes every day still. I think its really weird though. Anyways, my parents liked boring music so they have nothing that interests me...I actually have to explain to them what was going on at the time when discussing music. The only thing we agree on is the Doobie Brothers...my favorite song by them is "Black Water" it's a great southern rootsy song. |
 I dont think she was high my mom only smokes cigs but who knows? :smoke:

Yes Black Water is awesome! It's definitely my favorite Dobbie Brothers song, I love everything about it. |
American Beauty haters! Explain yourselves. Why do you dislike the album, which songs bore you, which do you like, etc?
I'm in an A.B. mood :). P.S. If it was Canadian Beauty, would you like it more? |
He's from West Virginia.

Hah, hell there's NOTHING wrong with pot I am a big supporter of it. American Beauty is my favorite Grateful Dead album so I'll have to butt out of this conversation  I should mention American Beauty in the Important Rock History thread. Unless someone already did and that's why you're talking about it. |
He's from West Virginia.
Yea, how dare you imply that I'm one of those filthy Canucks  I will not take such abuse! Especially since I'm from West Virginia where we take pride in our Canadian hatred! |
He's from West Virginia.
I'm not trying to name names. |
