Did you listen Knifeboy?

denboy 07-28-2005 09:02 PM

Yeah. But it's 5 am, and I'm going to bed. I'll comment tomorrow if I remember

Moses 07-28-2005 09:05 PM

Okay, well anyone else hear it?

Mr Herb 07-28-2005 09:07 PM

I am listening to it, its good id say but it has to much echo or something on some parts, other than that its pretty good.

Moses 07-28-2005 09:11 PM

Really? Too much? I can fix that but I didn't think it was too much.

Expresso 07-28-2005 09:11 PM

Moses: DL-ing

Where's the deadline posted? what is this comp about anyway, and is there a thread I can see? If the deadline's the first, we best get crackin. I know lateralus and Stinkfist both have drum tracks. Get poppin guitar and vocal types.

EDIT::: Moses, great work, the whole Lateralus track sounds really really good.
the part before the breakdown is shakey though, strained.
Oh and I just remembered rounder and matter probably have stuff lined up.

Mr Herb 07-28-2005 09:15 PM
Really? Too much? I can fix that but I didn't think it was too much.
I think it was too muh during the verse mostly but wait tilll someone else gives their take on it and see what they say :thumb:

Moses 07-28-2005 09:15 PM

Thanks alot. Still has some parts that need work but I think, Ben, who is supposed to be mixing it can fix that or else I can just redo it.

Expresso are you talking about the "I embrace my" part?

Matter 07-28-2005 09:42 PM

Moses> Vocals are to loud me thinks...verses sound good...off key and a little floaty on certain parts. Like expresso says you sound strained on the heavier parts like you are singing from your throat and not your diaphram. Overall pretty good though you got ballz for taking on a challenging song. Whos doing bass???

Moses 07-28-2005 10:08 PM

It is overall too loud, but that can be fixed. Certain parts I will redo because I know I was off key on the "feel the rhythm" part among other. The end I'll probably redo because I was actually sitting down when recording and didn't breath enough and pushed through my throat which was a bad idea. I don't usually record vocals so when I'm singing in band practice I naturally use my diaphram, but since I was sitting down I didn't notice it. Thanks, because I know exactly what to redo now.

On another note, my next Classical Education thread is going up soon so, y'all better give that a look or two.

Mr Herb 07-28-2005 10:41 PM

I understood yer thread.yey!

I just noticed singing on apc's brena is similar at times to that of the patient.nice.

Moses 07-28-2005 10:44 PM

I think Maynard sounds best on Parabol because of the control he has at that volume and how he moves his voice is just compelling.

Mr Herb 07-28-2005 10:45 PM

Yeah that Aliveeeeee I part is great.

Erm diffficulty wise, in what song does mayanrd best show off his talent?

Moses 07-28-2005 10:46 PM

I'd say Eulogy or Pushit.

Mr Herb 07-28-2005 10:49 PM

I thought itd be ticks and leeches.

mudvayne bassist is very good.

Overall, Maynard's APC vocals are very different, but in a very subtle way, from his Tool material.

Maybe The Grudge, if only for his amazing scream.

yeh you can tell its maynard but they still hit you differently from tool vocalss

Moses 07-28-2005 10:52 PM

His APC vocals are alot more extroverted. Also they are a little bit more showcased.

Also it's probably not Ticks and Leeches because screaming is actually pretty easy. Also he was screaming wrong since he lost his voice for about three weeks.

BlindWriting 07-28-2005 10:53 PM

Definitely, that's the right way to put it.

Ive also found that during apc shows his voice falters more frequently than it does at tool shows.
weird.

I wish I could have seen them live. Especially during the APC/NIN tour.

Mr Herb 07-28-2005 10:59 PM

I havnt seen em live, prob never will since am on puerto rico but hopefully they will released a live dvd like they are supposed to do some day.

BlindWriting 07-28-2005 11:02 PM

The state of APC's activity right now is very questionable, to say the least. Another release anytime soon, even something that would just have to be edited before releaes (i.e. concert footage), is really doubtful. Maynard with Tool, Jeordie with NIN, everyone doing they're own thing. Sad, but they all have their commitments. And at least it means some new Tool soon.

Moses 07-28-2005 11:02 PM

I mentioned earlier today that I saw a Tool DVD for 15 bucks that was called Tool Live at Radio City Music Hall.

Mr Herb 07-28-2005 11:03 PM

They said theyd be out till at least late 2006. Sucks real hard really. WEll hopefully be able to enjoy a Billy Howerdel solo project.

and josh is playing with sting

A bootleg, obviously, but still fun to have. If you end up getting (or if you did), post a quick review.
