this is incredible |
The Flaming Lips - Transmissions from the Satellite Heart
Pretty damn great, but it didn't have the instant impact that Clouds Taste Metallic did for me. We'll see how we go from here. XTC - Skylarking As awesome as Drums and Wires. Man, this band is quickly becoming one of my favourites. Bruce Springsteen - Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. It's the Boss. And it's fantastic. Pulp - This is Hardcore Holy crap. So awesome. What a fantastic duo of albums, Different Class, and then this. Spoon - Girls Can Tell Fantastic as always. And now I'm listening to Primal Scream - Screamadelica and it's great so far. Quite a big afternoon. |

Rival Schools Oh, and I'm getting back into Deftones because of the new album. |
Just listened to Ecim by Cul De Sac for the first time, and it's wonderful. Vaguely Neu!ish avant-garde rock from the early 90s.

Save Ferris have a pretty cool cover of that song.
Which was about the only good song on that album. |
I just listened to "Time's up" by Heavy Vegetables, and I am not sure what to think of it. Don't they realize how atonal they are?
Yet somehow the dissonance is growing on me. |

"Tractor Rape Chain" is so addictive. I might buy their live DVD.
Do it! The DVD is amazing! Sure, it's ridiculously long (4 hrs), but it's a pure, unadulterated GBV love-fest the entire way. |
Save Ferris have a pretty cool cover of that song.
Which was about the only good song on that album.
apparently no doubt do a cover of it. i hope to avoid it for the rest of my natural life. |
It's Chameleons UK time, baby.
|
That new Califone is easily one of the top 5 releases of this year, no doubt. A few days ago I listened to Orchids on repeat about 10 times, it's too beautiful. Anyone have the original Psychic TV version? I've yet to find it torrented/soulseek'd.
Have you listened to Califone's earlier stuff? I'd say their last two real records are just as strong as this one. |
Yeah those are the ones I was referring to. Q/C is still my favorite record by them, but this new one is making a strong run for the top. It's unfathomably great.
|
apparently no doubt do a cover of it.
i hope to avoid it for the rest of my natural life.
Yeah well Save Ferris' version has a horn section. Even though Monique Powell does sound a lot like Gwen Steffani. |
Earth Crisis- "Destroy the Machines"
