I've got a show on in the background; "Nazi Hate Rock: A Macintyre Investigation". I love shows like this. Bad politics and worse music.
I don't think my teacher taught us Le Chatelier's principle, so I have no idea what this means. Help? :(

Tyler 02-06-2006 06:51 PM

What should be my next review?

Dragonforce - Inhuman Rampage (Japanese Edition)

or

Macho Man Randy Savage - Be a Man!

I could explain it, but Wiki (as always) does a better job:
I remember a Spawn cartoon on the Sci-fi channel. It was cool.
You know what I found out the other day, the Spawn character was created by Todd Mcfarlene (I misspelled the last name I know) who is brother of Seth Mcfarlene the creater and writer of Family Guy. Todd Mcfarlene also used to write Spiderman comics and is resposible for the bad guy Venom (I always thought he was cool). That family has done such great things for the animated world.

Stormrider 02-06-2006 08:39 PM

I love Spawn. Anybody seen the movie ?

jpj 02-06-2006 08:42 PM

I used to love that movie when I was little. I can't believe my parents let me watch it.

Steerpike 02-06-2006 08:42 PM

Movie was okay. Not that great, but not that bad either. Kind of a slow first act, though.

NP: Slough Feg - Brave Connor Mac

God damn Slough Feg are awesome. This whole song is a Celtic-influenced tune about a gory battle from the Ulster Cycle.

Dr. Jake Destructo 02-06-2006 08:42 PM

Hey all you CR guys, how come you never told me how cool Little Feat was before today?

NP: Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus

I really like the sound of this stuff. It's kind of like Jeff Beck meets The Grateful Dead. Huzzah!

Cain 02-06-2006 08:48 PM

Just saw Land of the Dead. Was really cool. I think Dawn of the Dead is still better at getting Romero's vision across, though: easily the most accomplished at drawing the distinctions between the evil humans, the good humans, and the impulsive, natural, and blameless nature of the zombies.

Too bad it was remade the way it was, I think Romero should remake it with the tools he has at his disposal currently. It would be so much better than the greyface stuff of movies past.

I do have to say, though, the scene in "Land" where one of the guys gets his face ripped off is utterly fantastic. And then there's the part where the girl's belly button gets popped because a zombie tore her ring out. Gaagh. So ghoulish and great.

Stormrider 02-06-2006 08:50 PM

Yeah that movie is great. Very gory.

Hey Steerpike, is Slough Feg Power Metal ?

/me is curious

The nearly-headless zombie was a nice touch, too.
Yeah that movie is great. Very gory.

Sort of. They're a real genre-bender. Metal Archives lists them as Folk Traditional Doom/Power metal.

Their distinguishing feature is the heavy Celtic influence combined with Iron Maiden-esque riffing.

Stormrider 02-06-2006 09:04 PM

Ah ok. I'll check them out. I'll check out Celtic at the same time.

Mind naming a few good songs ? Thanks.

Steerpike 02-06-2006 09:10 PM

They're hard to track down. Ask Stoic for some songs. Some of my favorites are Brave Connor Mac, Sky Chariots, Gene-ocide, and Troll Cave.

They're on the poll for a spotlight and are tied with Buddy Holly right now. You can always pop in and vote.

nobodyblossomsforever 02-06-2006 09:13 PM

Hmmm..I'm feeling interested. I need to check these guys out!
