They're also available for the Portsmouth, Glasgow and Exeter gigs. Dammit, why aren't the Birmingham tickets on sale. Looks like I'll probably be going to rock city instead, but I'd much rather go to Birmingham on a Friday than Rock City on a Tuesday but I don't know about any age restrictions for Birmingham and by the time they come on sale Rock City might be sold out, and then if there are age restrictions at Birmingham - looks like no Opeth for me.
I wouldn't worry too much about age restrictions at gigs. When I was 15 even I would go to 18+ gigs. The bouncers at the door really don't care.
I just found a vid of Opeth performing Closure in Glasgow. I was there!

You've prob already vids of them doung this live but fuck it, I thought I'd share it because I WAS THERE. :p

I couldn't understand Mike. I only could hear that line because you typed it out. I just heard someone in the crowd yell for Lopez.

I cant stop listening to Deliverance song, its soo good.

Kaiwaz 06-07-2006 05:50 PM

Great song. :thumb:

Shattered_Future 06-07-2006 05:52 PM

I think it drags on in parts, but oddly enough, the last 3 minutes of it I find are the best...

Daven 06-07-2006 06:23 PM

I like everything in that song. The beginning and the ending are my favorite parts.

Kaiwaz 06-07-2006 07:04 PM

Likewise, though my favorite song on Deliverance still remains The Master's Apprentices.

Daven 06-07-2006 07:04 PM

The intro riff is very cool.

Kaiwaz 06-07-2006 07:06 PM

Definitely. Straight to the point...

Jude 06-07-2006 07:24 PM

Oddly enough, the one part of Deliverance that doesn't EVER seem to drag on is the 3-minute repetitious riff/beat at the end.

That song rules hard, although I think BTPISIO may pass it for my favorite off that album.

Shattered_Future 06-07-2006 07:25 PM

I think Master's Apprentices and By The Pain I See In Others are the best on there. The former for the kickass riffery, the latter for the kickass vocalry.

Txus 06-07-2006 07:27 PM

Where is the Wreath love? :(

But yeah, BTPISIO is my favorite song of Deliverance.

Toaster 06-07-2006 07:42 PM

That album is really solid. Aside from A Fair Judgement, every song is one of Opeth's best.

Txus 06-07-2006 07:44 PM

I like A Fair Judgment but I agree, it's the weak point of the album.

NP: Opeth - Deliverance

Darkness 06-07-2006 07:44 PM

I love all songs on Deliverance, A Fair Judgment being the weakest. I find it's much better live, and that guitar solo is extremely good. But the rest of the song is fairly average.

Kreator2112 06-07-2006 07:57 PM

I dislike Deliverance.

Darkness 06-07-2006 07:57 PM
I dislike Deliverance.
At least you told us why, thanks.

That's my second favorite on the album, after the title track.

Kreator2112 06-07-2006 08:04 PM

It's supposedly the heavier of the two, but half of it is soft.

I love the intro to Master's Apprentice.

Shattered_Future 06-07-2006 08:05 PM

Best part of the album right there. It's so simple, but my ****ing God, it KILLS.

Txus 06-07-2006 08:12 PM

I'm listening to BTPISIO as we speak, OMG THIS SONG IS SO GOOOD!!!! :D

Toaster 06-07-2006 08:13 PM

I think the rest of Master's Apprentices is way better than the intro. I actually hated the intro when I first heard it.

Txus 06-07-2006 08:16 PM

I thought it was really boring, but I felt in love with the song afterwards.

Daven 06-07-2006 08:24 PM

I didnt like TMA until i saw some kiuds covering it.

Txus 06-07-2006 08:25 PM

^^ They did an excellent job, Googlevideo right?

Daven 06-07-2006 08:30 PM

Yes.

Kaiwaz 06-07-2006 08:48 PM

I think A Fair Judgement balances out the album. Out of all the songs, I think it has the best lyrics on Deliverance. They fit so perfect with my past, one of my favorite Opeth songs.

I never thought the lyrics of that song were so great (the vocal melodies, on the other hand...) I think it's the rhyme scheme. Usually I have no problems with that rhyme scheme or with Opeth using one that's restrictive (Face of Melinda has awesome lyrics) but IMO they just don't "work" on that song.

Masters Apprentices: First 5 minutes = meh, second 5 minutes = f****mazing

In other news, I'm on break from work right now. I was just filling out my time sheet for today when I noticed that the last name of another summer assistant they just hired is Opet. What the hell? That's pretty \m/. What really matters though is if she's hot or not. I really hope so. I'm sick of just old ladies being around all the time.

Deth 06-08-2006 10:21 AM

A hot girl with last name Opet = amazing

gmoneyguy 06-08-2006 10:23 AM
A hot girl with last name Opet = amazing
Dude if you get her in the sack you need to growl "Demon! Demon of the fall!" the whole time.
