I've never liked Garys solos and such Ive heard on the internet, does he have a band or anything?
EDIT: Brad, I love my Fender because its all original parts 1983, but fenders are just so easy to mod...its tempting |
The dissolution of Lyman’s Native roots leads to several other miscommunications throughout the remainder of the brother’s relationship, such as when Lyman intentionally damages the car in order to get Henry’s attention and restore their kinship by attempting to relive the vagrant treks they used to utilize the vehicle for. Ultimately Lyman’s “cure” fails and Henry returns the car to Lyman (after he’d spent a summer restoring it), “He said he knew what I’d done with the car. It was obvious it had been whacked out of shape and not just neglected. He said he wanted to give the car to me for good now” (454)....
Lyman then relapses to his inner Chippewa and realizes that his brother is attempting to give him a customary burial gift, which he refuses. Lyman then relapses to his inner Chippewa and realizes that his brother is attempting to give him a mortuary gift as is accustomed in their tribe. |
You could keep them in your parts bin so it could be "original"
But how "original" is a stock bass. ;) Contemplate that one. Haha |
:thumb:
The only thing that would make me mod my fender was if I could get it refinished in a vintage sunburst with a pickguard. |
yeah, definitely be a nerd for that one.
|
You could buy my 60s jazz and defret that somuvabech.
|
I'm saving for a fretted now. Im only keeping like half of my check though.
I dont want to put a ****load of money on the fretless right now when a month later I could not even want it anymore... |
Thanks Pickle.
Back to the grindstone. :( |

You would if you paid attention! Basic classroom ethics! |
My teacher kicked me out today because my idea of doing my classwork was reading my latest Dean Koonts novel.
|
I had to stop bringing music theory books to school because I would always have them spread about the desk, and I would be doing all of the exercises in them instead of actual course work.
|
I always bring my ovation to school. Ive gotten in confiscated like 8 times by teachers but the disciplinarian always plays it fora bit, says Im lucky, and gives it back.
|
Back when I was in high school, I always brought three instruments to school because I was in the jazz band, but I only played two of them at school, and the third was for band practise immediately after school. Everyone was always like O_O when I walked around in public with everything. |
The prinicpal at my school is an insanely good guitarist.
I'm just never satisifed with my playing, and I always get ideas when a guitar isnt around. So I made sure theres always a guitar around |
i have to take three differant basses on one night next week :(
|
I am sure that your teachers definitely love that. :p
My teachers only have to deal with the constant tapping from me, and my loud music that is only really loud when the room becomes quiet. :/ |
If they'd let me leave and go to the band room like I asked it wouldnt be a problem, if I disturb anyone its their fault
|
one time i was carrying my huge bass case down the hallway and someone asked me what was inside. I smoothly replied with, "heh, have you ever seen the movie 'elephant'?"
in case you're wondering, "elephant" is a movie about a school shooting. |
Why don't you just make a deal with them? Something along the lines of if you finish early, you should be allowed to head on down to the band room?
|

yeah that doesn't suprise me actually. apparently none of the kids in the movie are actors, but just students picked at random. |
I actually got searched freshmen year when I still had that 35" scale bass.

damn americans, the thought wouldn't even cross anyones mind down here |
I used to keep weed in my case as well, so I've wondered how long it would before a dog would sniff residue in my case.

Yeah, Gus Van Sant just hosts open auditions for his films most of the time, so they are mostly a bunch of no-named actors. Just like with that film Thumbsucker with Keanu Reeves. I knew the actor Chase Offerle because I went to school with him as well. |

Anyway, It's opinion time (again) The foreign contortions of Henry’s dance bring his brother to a fit of laughter, perhaps because of the peculiarity of the scene but most likely because he is uncomfortable with his brother’s actions. Unable to cope any longer with uneasiness of being the only Native American on his reservation, Henry decides to surrender himself, without relinquishing his pride, to the eager mouth of the Red River. |
Comma before "but".

Good catch.
|
Im still insisting that life hasn't gotten any better or worse, we just actually hear about whats going on nowadays.

We'll I might be finally moving my way up to my first 6 string. After talking to Tr3ize, I might be buying that beautiful Yamaha TRB6 from him. Let's just say i can barely sit in my chair.

Hemorrhoids? |
News depresses me as well. I figure if knowing about something happening is a requirement for my existance than I will hear about it eventually...
But yeah, Im a huge history buff and it seems like life has gotten alot better, but the news and media is zooming in on everything bad. |

But yeah, Im a huge history buff and it seems like life has gotten alot better, but the news and media is zooming in on everything bad.
Well the mass of people are so concentrated on lives that they could never live that it becomes an addiction. "I wonder what the really popular pop-star is doing so i can re-enact it and try to be popular myslef". Doesn't seem very logical to myself. |
It just seems like, if one son from a family is killed a war, thats terrible. But what about 100 years ago when a family would bury 7 babies for every child to live past the night of its birth only to die a few years later from a cold or fever?
|
We'll that's also a part of our progression in the western society. Our medicine and technology have take huge bounds in that 100 years, that the amount of deaths become increasingly less. So now there is more of a shock value if a family member dies. But then theres also the contrast with one soldier dying, and an entire city being bombed. The media is really starting to warp our opinions and views of society.
