That doesn't make any sense.
|
It sounds like there's a solo in Blindfolds Aside, I guess that's just my ears playing tricks on me.

Old but
We’ve heard of bands dropping off tours because of illness, injury, excessive drug use or the inability to get along with other groups on the bill, but this is a first. Whitby, Ontario experimental metal band Protest the Hero have abandoned their tour with Silverstein for sucking too hard. http://headbangersblog.mtv.com/2008/03/11/protest-the-hero-protest-their-incompetence/ |
That article is horribly written and kind of really false. Silverstein sucking wasn't why they cancelled the tour.
|
People actually read the headbanger's blog?
|
Well I mean who doesn't!
|
It's saved in my favorites, bitch.
|
I don't, guy gave me the link

Now people who haven't even heard the band are gonna think they suck and wont bother listening to them. PtH deserve to be hugely successful. Ok after reading the actual blog I take back my statement, cause they talk about how great the band is. |
With all the talk about how people love/hate Chiodos the tour name was neglected. I think "Beer! The Musical" has to suck the least out of all the tour names PtH has been involved with (although I've always thought C**k the Vote was kind of clever...only kind of.)

yours truly tim and luke teaching you how to eat bloodmeat
Only a matter of time 'till this finds itself on YouTube, woot. Also, there's a new Protest the Blog. Tim talks about pizza (and math!): http://www.guitarworld.com/article/protest_the_hero_pizza_blog |
I've been having such a Kezia binge today it's unreal. One of my favorite albums hands down.
|
He is serious about pizza for sure.

I love deep dish, yummm!! |
Anyone agree that Kezia own Fortress? I was listening to teh Kez today and it was a-maze-ing.
|
i think they're both equally good
|
I tend to lean toward Fortress because it has more particular songs that grab me, as Kezia is more of a whole album listen. They both own though.
|
I like Kezia more but I listen to Fortress more.

Lol I do odd things like that. I dont want to play things out so I only listen once in awhile. |
The keyboard solo on Limb from Limb makes Fortress my favorite. I can't get over it, it just kills me.
|
I prefer Fortress, only listen to Kezia for a few songs but its grown on me more because of fortress

They've each got their great qualities. I'm probably going to be alone in saying this but I think that Kezia is the more atmospheric album. It probably ties back to when I first got into PTH early in the summer of '07 after listening to Lamb of God heavily for almost an entire year. I was getting tired of Randy Blythe and what seems like his only emotion (ANGER!). By chance I found myself on the PTH myspace listening to Divine Suicide of K and the first line got me hooked; "I better think of my answers now, because I know questions will be asked." I thought "Wow, this is frantic and heartfelt, I'm going to listen to more of this." I still get that feeling today even after listening to Kezia well over 70 times (which is probably an extremely low estimate). I would say that Fortress pummels more than it envelops like Kezia. Although I do admit, I find myself singing the line from Spoils "All the future ghosts..." almost daily. |
Did you just call Kezia atmospheric? What? I think it's the total opposite.
|
I said that I'm probably the only person who thinks that. I don't know, somewhere around Blindfolds Aside all the way up to Platefull of our Dead (if I'm actually listening to the music, not screwing around on the internet) I get sucked into it. Probably because that's when Kezia's movement starts and all of the songs are about the last hours of her life before she's brought to that "makeshift valley of death, in the prison's backyard."
At the time I first heard it I was pretty high strung about a lot of things so music that was all about being frantic and dreading something you know you can't change struck a chord with me. |
How is it not atmospheric? The ending of most of the songs (think Divine Suicide, Turn Soonest to the CD) is catchy and aesthetic.
To me the new CD just sounds less inspired. The climaxes feel more natural and each song moves comfortably from part to part on Kez. The new one is a bunch of cool parts kind of squeezed together to me. |

Listen to Spoils while reading the lyrics. You may change your mind. |
i think spoils is my least favorite track on that whole album
